Task Options Setup

The Practice Parameters section of the Task Types window provides practice-specific options for the practice you are currently logged into. While task types are shared among all practices, their setup options can vary according to these practice parameters. In other words, you can modify the task type for another practice by logging on to a different practice. To set task options, perform the following steps: In the Task Types master file, open a task type, and then select the Options tab. Select the Generate System Alert check box to generate a system alert if a worklog task was created for the task type. In addition to the system alert, users can view alert information on the Alerts of the Edit Task window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Note: The Alerts Practice Preferences control when the alerts display in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Set Up Wait List Tasks

To set up a Wait List task, perform the following steps: In the Source Type field, select Appointment Waitlist. In the Task Type field, enter a name for the task type. Select the Auto Creation tab. A list of task action descriptions for the source type display in the Action column. The items in the list represent events that occur in the application that can be selected to automatically generate tasks. Select the drop-down arrow in the Default Assigned To for all selected actions and select who you would like to assign this task to. If you want the Worklog Manager to check for a waitlist match in real-time or nightly, select the one of the following actions: For this process... Select this action... Set Up Tasks for Auto Creation

You can set up tasks to be automatically generated based on the actions selected from a list. The list of actions is specific to each source type. To set up a task to automatically generate, perform the following steps: Open or set up new task types. Select the Open Menu button on the Task Types List and select New. Set up the task options on the Options tab as necessary. Select the Auto Creation tab. Enter a description of the task in the Task Type field. This field is required. If you want to assign a value to the task for reporting purposes, select the up and down arrows in the Task Value field. The higher the number, the more important the task is. This number ranks all of the tasks by source type. Therefore, if you have three tasks with a source type of encounter and they have task values of 1, 5, and 10, the task with a task value of 10 is more important than the tasks with values of 1 and 5. Set Up Tasks for Auto Completion

You can set up tasks to be automatically completed based on selecting an action from the list. Tasks can be set up for auto completion regardless of whether they are manually or automatically created. Auto-completion occurs when the system recognizes that the desired results related to the completion of the task have been met. Upon auto-completion, the tasks are marked with the completion date and either the default or override completion reason. To set up a task to be automatically completed, perform the following steps: Open or set up new ttask types. Select the Auto Completion tab. Enter a description of the task in the Task Type field. This field is required. In the Source Type field, select a source type. This field is required. Workable Task

NextGen® Enterprise PM users can access workable tasks in Worklog or during AutoFlow in the Work Tasks window where they can view the appointment request details. They can copy the appointment request data and paste it as a new appointment into the appointment book or they can book the appointment through appointment search ahead. Note: Tasks that are set up as workable tasks with a source type of Encounter, Chart, or Appointment are displayed during auto-flow and from the right-click > Work Tasks menu option. Set Up Auto Worker Tasks for Small Balance Write-Offs

You can set up tasks to automatically write off small balances each night based on selecting an action from a list. These tasks are worked automatically by the application based on the Auto Worker action chosen and completed. The completed task is then reflected in the Worklog and the Edit Task dialog box in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Auto Worker creates a transaction batch and, on the next day, the NextGen® Enterprise PM user must post the transaction batch. For each day that the batch is not posted, auto worker continues to create additional tasks for the same encounter and new batches will be created every day. To set up a task to automatically write off small balances, perform the following steps: Open or set up new task types. On the Task Types dialog box, select the Options tab, then set the Default Priority to Low, Normal, or High. Select the Auto Creation tab. In the Source Type field, select Encounter.
