TheAutoFlowuser preferences enable you to select AutoFlow Sequencesthat affect the check-in and check-out processes inNextGen® Enterprise PM. An AutoFlow sequence includes a defined series of windows that you must follow when you check-in patients prior to their appointments, and check-out patients after their appointments. Default AutoFlow sequences for all users in the practice are selected by location in yourAutoFlowpractice preferences. You can also select AutoFlow sequences by location in your user preferences. Set up AutoFlow Preferences

Assign Practice-Level AutoFlow Sequences

You can assign AutoFlow sequences to specific locations for the practice in Practice Preferences. Select Admin > Preferences > Practice > AutoFlow > Sequences tab. To apply an AutoFlow Sequence for check-in or when a user creates an encounter, do one of the following in the AutoFlow Sequences for menu option "Check-in/Create Encounter" section: For all locations, select a sequence in the All Locations row. For a specific location, select a sequence in the location's row. To apply an AutoFlow Sequence for check-out, repeat the previous step in the AutoFlow Sequences for menu option "Checkout" section. AutoFlow Practice Preferences

The AutoFlow Practice Preferences enable you to select an Autoflow Sequences Master File that contains a series of actions for processing encounters during check-in and check-out processes. You can apply a sequence to all locations or to individual ones. You can also set default user preferences for autoflow that override these practice-level settings. To assign AutoFlow Sequences, do the following: Open the AutoFlow Practice Preferences: Master Files > System > Practices > Preferences > AutoFlow. In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Practices. Double click on a practice to open Modify Practice Information window. Select Preferences, and then select AutoFlow in Practice Preferences. To apply an autoflow Sequence for check-in or when a user creates an encounter, do one of the following in AutoFlow Sequences for menu option "Check-in/Create Encounter" section: For all locations, select a sequence in the <All Locations> row. Setting Up AutoFlow

To set up the AutoFlow feature: Create AutoFlow Sequence master files in File Maintenance. Assign the AutoFlow sequences created in File Maintenance to specific practice locations on the AutoFlow Sequences tab in Practice Preferences. Note: You can set default user preferences for AutoFlow that override the practice-level settings in Practice Preferences.
