AutoFlow Practice Preferences

The AutoFlow Practice Preferences enable you to select an Autoflow Sequences Master File that contains a series of actions for processing encounters during check-in and check-out processes. You can apply a sequence to all locations or to individual ones.

You can also set default user preferences for autoflow that override these practice-level settings.

To assign AutoFlow Sequences, do the following:

  1. Open the AutoFlow Practice Preferences: Master Files > System > Practices > Preferences > AutoFlow.

  2. To apply an AutoFlow Sequence for check-in or when a user creates an encounter, do one of the following in the AutoFlow Sequences for menu option "Check-in/Create Encounter" section:
    • For all locations, select a sequence in the All Locations row.
    • For a specific location, select a sequence in the location's row.
  3. To apply an AutoFlow Sequence for check-out, repeat the previous step in the AutoFlow Sequences for menu option "Checkout" section.
  4. If you want users to have the option to return to AutoFlow after completing all tasks, select Enable AutoFlow button after workable tasks have been completed.
    When the check box is selected, the Autoflow button is enabled so that users can return to Autoflow after tasks have been completed in the Work Tasks window.
  5. If you want users to confirm the patient’s insurance during the Autoflow process, select the Insurance must be confirmed before proceeding to the next autoflow sequence check box.
    When the check box is selected and the Insurance Selection window is included in the Autoflow Sequences master file, the Insurance Confirmed field is added to the Encounter Insurance Selection window. The user must select Yes for the field during the Autoflow checkin and checkout process to proceed to the next step in Autoflow. If the user does not select Yes, the Insurance not confirmed during Autoflow significant event is recorded.
  6. Select OK.
