Appt Scheduling Practice Preferences

The Appt Scheduling practice preferences enables you to set various options and defaults that impact setup in Scheduling Administration and booking appointments in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Appt Scheduling Practice Preferences Field Descriptions Hide Time Slots to the Right of the Scheduler Book You can hide time slots to the right of the scheduler book. Time Interval Overrides You can set different time increments to schedule resources at different times for doctors to perform their standard procedure. View Hidden Resources

Hidden resources do not display on the Resources tab in Scheduling Administration window. However, you can select to display hidden resources, if needed. In NextGen® Enterprise PM select Admin > Scheduling Admin. Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences window, the Scheduling Admin option on the Admin menu displays the following two options: Enterprise Practice The Scheduling Administration window opens. Select the Resources tab. Select the Include Hidden Items check box. The hidden resources appear in the list with a Hide icon on the left. To remove hidden resources from the view, clear the selection for the Include Hidden Items option. Hidden resources are removed from the list. Parent topic: Resources Tab - Sched Admin

Hide a Resource

If you hide a resource for a practice, then the resource is no longer available for selection in NextGen® Enterprise PM. For example, a provider has left the practice and therefore appointments should no longer be scheduled for that resource. If a resource is hidden, all existing appointments for the resource are retained. Therefore, they remain in a patient’s appointment history and are still available for appointment reports in NextGen® Enterprise PM. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Scheduling Admin. Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences window, the Scheduling Admin option on the Admin menu displays the following two options: Enterprise Practice The Scheduling Administration window opens. Select the Resources tab. From the list, select the resource to be hidden. Right-click and select Hide. A message appears asking you to confirm if you want to hide the resource. Unhide a Resource

You can unhide a resource when hidden by mistake. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Scheduling Admin. Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences window, the Scheduling Admin option on the Admin menu displays the following two options: Enterprise Practice The Scheduling Administration window opens. Select the Resources tab. Select the Include Hidden Items check box. From the list of resources, select the resource that you want to unhide. Right-click and select Hide from the menu. Set Scheduling Preferences for Resources

You can customize the display order of resources on the following windows in NextGen® Enterprise PM: Appointment Lookup Appointment Search Ahead Patient Wait List Item Recall Plan Maintenance Appointment Reminders If no selections are made in the Preferred resources of the Resources tab, all resources appear in alphabetic alphabetical order on the above windows. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences > User > Scheduling. The Appointment Scheduling Preferences window opens. Select the Resources tab. Search for Appointments with Patient Inclusion and Exclusion Lists

On the Enterprise Appointment Search Ahead window, when you search for available time slots by selecting a patient, the time slot from practices displays only the patients listed on your inclusion list or all patients except those listed on your Exclusion list in those practices. The Inclusion or Exclusion list is initially set up in System Administrator and applied when you search for a patient in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, or NextGen® Optical Management.
