Set Scheduling Preferences for Resources

You can customize the display order of resources on the following windows in NextGen® Enterprise PM:
  • Appointment Lookup
  • Appointment Search Ahead
  • Patient Wait List Item
  • Recall Plan Maintenance
  • Appointment Reminders

If no selections are made in the Preferred resources of the Resources tab, all resources appear in alphabetic alphabetical order on the above windows.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM.
  2. From the Admin menu, select Preferences > User > Scheduling.
    The Appointment Scheduling Preferences window opens.
  3. Select the Resources tab.

  4. In the Preferred resources section, select your preferred resources.
  5. To set the display order for your preferred resources, select a resource, and then select the promote or demote buttons to move the resource up or down in the list.

    You can also use and buttons to move a resource to the top or bottom of the list.

    When in a Resource field in NextGen® Enterprise PM, the selected preferred resources display at the top of the list in your defined order, followed by all other resources at the bottom of the list in alphabetical order.

  6. To show only preferred resources in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Only show my preferred resources check box.
  7. In the Default resource(s)/class for Appt Search section, select a resource or class to default to all new appointments scheduled using the Appointment Search Ahead feature.
  8. To save changes and close the window, select OK.
