Use theContacts Maintenancemaster file to set up and maintain contact lens information. TheContacts Maintenancemaster file is made up of four tabs that are used to set up the lists for contact lenses. TheContacts Maintenancemaster file includes the following tabs: Material- a list of materials used in the construction of contact lenses by lens type categorized by water content, polymeric composition, and so on. Blend Type- a list of thermally consolidated blends used in non woven material for contact lenses. Replacement Schedule- a list of schedules used to indicate when the contact lenses should be replaced. Options- a list of options that you offer in your practice for contact lenses, such as Hybrids. To access theContacts Maintenancemaster file, from the Master Files - Optical Management list, selectContacts Maintenance. TheContact Maintenancewindow opens. You can create a list of edge styles that you can apply to eyeglass orders. Edge styles come pre-loaded with the system. On the Edge Styles tab, do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu and select New. To modify an item, double-click the item to open. The Edge Style window opens. In Description, enter a description for the edge style. In SIM Code, select the question mark symbol to search for and select a code or description associated with the lens material, and select OK. To indicate whether this item is taxable, select Taxable. To use this edge style for only VSP orders, select For use on VSP orders only. To add more detail, select Note and add your comments. To hide an item in the list, select Hide. On the External tab, select open menu and select New.The Add External Interface window opens. In External System, select VisionWeb or VSP as an external provider. In External Description, select a description for the system and select OK. You can set up a list of lens materials by lens type that you offer and specify the SIM code associated with each material. This list appears in the Lens (Style/Material) field on the eyeglass order form. On theMaterialstab, do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menuand selectNew. To modify an item, double-click the item to open. TheLens Materialswindow opens. InDescription, enter a description for the lens material. InSIM Code, select the question marksymbol to search for and select a code or description for the lens material, and selectOK. Use material codes and not prescription codes. You can set up a list of styles you order from the lab and specify the associated lens type. On theStylestab, do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menuand selectNew. To modify an item, double-click the item to open. TheLens Styleswindow opens. InDescription, enter a description for the lens style. Style refers to segment style and encompasses the design (such as a flat-top bifocal) and size of the lens. Size refers to the horizontal width in millimeters of the segment (such as flat-top 28). If the segment width is over 28, selectSegment Width 28+. If you select this option, an additional charge may be initiated. InLens Type, select the type of lens. InService Item, select the question marksymbol to search for and select a SIM code or group or a description for the lens style and selectOK. To use the lens style for only VSP orders, selectFor use on VSP orders only. To add more detail, selectNoteand add your comments. To hide an item in the list, selectHide. Progressive types vary by performance characteristics, such as stability of distance, near, and intermediate zones of vision. On the Progressive Types tab, do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu and select New. To modify an item, double-click the item to open. The Progressive Types window opens. In Description, enter a description for the type of progressive lens. In SIM Code, select the question mark symbol to search for and select a SIM code or a description associated with the progressive type, and select OK. To use this progressive lens only for VSP orders, select For use on VSP orders only. To add more detail, select Note and add your comments. To hide an item in the list, select Hide.
