Add or Modify a Lens Option
You can create a list of coatings that can be added to a lens to specify the SIM code associated with the coating.
- On the Options tab, do one of the following:
- To add a new item, select open menu and select New.
- To modify an item, double-click the item to open.
The Lens Options window opens. - In Description, enter a description for the coating.
- In Service Item, select the question mark symbol to search for and select a SIM code or group or a description associated with the lens style, and select OK.
Note: If more than one SIM code is required for an option, assign a SIM group code to the option.
- To include only one SIM for the eyeglass order, select One-line Charge.
- To indicate whether this option is taxable, select Taxable.
- For contact lens and eyeglass VSP orders, select one of the following check boxes based on SIM code mapping:
- For use on VSP orders only, if the SIM code is mapped to VSP.
- Show on VSP order if not mapped, if you want to add an additional SIM code that is not mapped to VSP. You can select the SIM code for warranty purposes, and the selected SIM code appears in the Options section on order forms, but the SIM code is not sent to VSP.
- For a specific SIM code, if the For use on VSP orders only check box is selected then the Show on VSP order if not mapped check box is disabled because the SIM code is mapped to VSP and appears on NextGen® Optical Management orders.
- For a specific SIM code, if the For use on VSP orders only check box is not selected you can either select or deselect the Show on VSP order if not mapped check box, and the For use on VSP orders only check box is enabled.
- To add more detail, select Note and add your comments.
- To hide an item in the list, select Hide.
- On the External tab, select open menu and select New.
The Add External Interface window opens.
- In External System, select VisionWeb or VSP as an external provider.
- In External Description, select a description for the system and select OK.
- Select Next to add another item or select OK to return to the options list.
