Rx Units
The Rx Units master file contains a full list of medication units. This is a user-defined table.
To add or modify an Rx Unit, perform the following steps:
Do one of the following:
To add a new item, select
Open Menu
, and then select
New
.
To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select
Open Menu
, and then select
Open
. You can also double-clickto open the item.
The
Add/Modify Rx Units Information
window displays.

Enter a full descriptiom of the medication sent.
Note
Enter additional information.
If you want to hide the item in the list, select the
Hide
check box.
Select
Next
to add another item or select
OK
to return to the

window.

The SIGs master file contains a complete list of all medication dosage instructions. This master file is usually populated during installation; data initially stored in the master file is dependent on the original NextGen database. You can enter additional SIG Codes. To add or modify a SIG code: Do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select Open Menu , and then select Open. You can also double-click open the item. Note: You can enter an asterisk ( * ) to list all the records. The Add/Modify SIG Information window displays. Field Description Key Enter a standard abbreviation for the dosage instructions. If you are adding a new SIG Code, enter a unique key. Description Enter a full description. Note Enter additional information. If you want to hide the item in the list, select the Hide check box. Add Rx Note
The Medications module enables you to add, view, modify, and delete notes related to a medication. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Medications module. Select a medication. Select the Add Note link. The Medication Note window opens. Select a type of note. Medication Note Enter the details for your note. Medication Note text Select OK. Add Rx Note

Add User-Defined Medications
You can add additional medications to the list of company-specific and provider-specific medications. You can add a user-defined medication only if it does not already exist in your database. CAUTION: If you add a user-defined medication, you cannot delete it. To add a user-defined medication, do the following: From the Master Files - System list, select Medication Tasks. The Medications Task window opens. Under Medications Tasks, select Add User-Defined Medication. The Add User-Defined Medications window opens. Enter information for the medication.
