Manage Patient Pharmacies

Use the Manage Patient Pharmacies link on the Send Prescription window to add the following default pharmacies: Primary pharmacy Secondary pharmacy Mail-order pharmacy In the Send Prescription window, select Manage Patient Pharmacies. Note: You must have the right to add prescriptions, and ePrescribe must be enabled for the Manage Patient Pharmacies link to appear. The Manage Patient Pharmacies window opens. Manage Patient Pharmacies window Select the ellipsis button next to the enter of pharmacy you want to search for. The Pharmacy Search window opens. Search and select a pharmacy. For the primary and secondary pharmacies, you can search and select either a retail or mail-order pharmacy. For mail-order pharmacies, a mail-order pharmacy must be selected. The Mail-Order Pharmacies Only check box is selected by default and the search results display only the mail-order pharmacies. Select Save. Viewing Dispense History

The Medications Module displays the last recorded case of a medication being dispensed (Print/Fax/eRx) in the Last Audit column of the Medication List. The Medications Dispense History enables you to view all information applicable to recorded cases of the selected medication being dispensed (Print/Fax/eRx). For eRx on the Dispense Audit Information window, the following statuses are supported: Synchronous when the pharmacy is directly associated with Surescripts Pending Error Sent - Verified Asynchronous when the pharmacy is associated with Surescripts through an aggregator that collects and processes the prescriptions Sent - Pending Verification Sent - Verify time out Verified Sent Error Note: Not all pharmacies support the Verify status. Managing Electronic Prior Authorizations

An electronic prior authorizations (ePA) is automatically initiated when you accept a medication and save it to the patient chart and one of the following conditions is met: If the selected medication requires a prior authorization through a Real-Time Prescriptions Benefits (RTPB) request. Note: The patient's Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) must be enrolled into Real-Time Prescriptions Benefits. If the patient's formulary file indicates that a prior authorization is required for the selected medication. Note: If the automatic ePA initiation fails, the Initiate ePA link in the medication details section becomes available. You can also manually initiate an ePA for new and renewed medications in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Additionally, you can do the following: Complete and submit the criteria to the PBM for review. View approval or denial responses. Initiate appeals, if required. View prior authorization transactions history. Note: If a medication requires prior authorization and you attem

eRx Validation

A prescription cannot be submitted electronically if the selected medication exceeds one of the following National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) SCRIPT Standard limits: The patient's first name or last name has more than 70 characters. The patient's street address or prescriber's street address has more than 40 characters. The SIG, including the as needed reason, has more than 1000 characters. The Non-Clinical Notes to Pharmacy (comments) has more than 210 characters. A prescription cannot be submitted electronically if the selected medication does not contain any of the following for ePrescribing: SIG Code Unit code Numeric quantity value When the NCPDP SCRIPT Standards are not met and you try to submit a prescription electronically, eRx Validation error message appears. On the error message, you can either select Fax to send the prescription or select Close and Fix to resolve the errors before sending the prescription. Medications Older than 30 Days

If a prescription was created before 30 days, the Send Rx - Create Date Validation error message appears. This message indicates that the receiving pharmacy may reject the prescription. You can respond to this error message as follows: To continue to prescribe the selected medication, select Yes. Patient's Rx Eligibility is Missing or Older than 24 Hours

If a patient's Rx eligibility is missing or older than 24 hours, the Patient Rx Eligibility error message appears. You can respond to this error message as follows: To check patient's Rx eligibility, select Yes.
