Components of the Superbill Module

The Superbill module enables you to enter information into the application easily. When you enter the procedures, modifiers, and problems in the specific modules of NextGen® Enterprise, system enters these to the Superbill module. Similarly, when you add the procedures, modifiers, and problems through the Superbill module, system automatically enters these into a patient's permanent medical record. Superbill The Superbill module consists of the following components: Payer. Enables you to assign services to a specific payer. Assigned Procedures. Displays a summary of the provided services. Available Procedures. Enables you to search and add procedures and modifiers. Available ICDs. Displays all established diagnoses, enables you to add new diagnoses, and displays both the ICD code and description of each problem. Add a Procedure in Superbill

You can add a procedure to the Superbill module. The procedures are added to the patient's chart. In the Assigned Procedures grid, the Rx on File column displays the value as 'Y' for an entry when the Rx on File check box is selected for the corresponding procedure in the Procedures module. Similarly, the Rx on File column displays the value as 'N', when the Rx on File check box is not selected for the corresponding procedure. Access the Superbill Module. In the Available Procedures section, select the Procedures tab. Select a category from the list. Scroll down the list of available procedures. Do one of the following: Select the appropriate check boxes to select the required procedures. Select the Procedure Search tab. Do one of the following: Enter a description or code for the procedure. Enter a description or key for the SIM library. Select Search. If you do not enter anything for either description or code and select Search, the entire list of available procedures appears. Move d

Create Summary of Services

You can create a summary of services for a patient in the Superbill module. Select procedures. Select modifiers. Select an available diagnosis or add a diagnosis. Select a payer. Save the summary of services. After you select a procedure, problem, modifier, and payer, select Save in the Superbill module, or Save in the top toolbar. All of the information is stored in the database. Moreover, NextGen® Enterprise automatically imports the selected data into the NextGen® Enterprise PM or your billing system. To edit data in the Assigned Procedures area, select a field to display a list. If you make changes, select Save in the Superbill module, or Save in the top toolbar again. All of the changes are updated throughout NextGen® Enterprise, carried over into the NextGen® Enterprise PM, and entered in your billing system. Information is automatically sent from Superbill into your billing system. However, Superbill does not import information from your billing system. If you enter information

Add Modifiers in Superbill

You can assign up to four modifiers per procedure. Each selected modifier appears in the Assigned Procedures area. Similarly, any modifier entered in the specific modules of NextGen® Enterprise are carried over into the Superbill module. You can scroll across the display grid to view the selected modifiers. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > Superbill. The Superbill module window opens. In Available Procedures, select Modifier. Superbill Select a modifier category from the Modifier list. Note: To view the modifier categories, you must set up the modifier category in the Modifier Categories List in File Maintenance. Superbill Module

The Superbill module enables you to do the following: Easily create a detailed summary of services provided with procedures, problems, and modifiers linked to each other. Assign a summary of services to a particular health plan and subsequently export all of the available information to a billing system. Using report generating software, Superbill enables you to create user-defined reports based on the summary of services.
