Components of the Superbill Module

The Superbill module enables you to enter information into the application easily. When you enter the procedures, modifiers, and problems in the specific modules of NextGen® Enterprise, system enters these to the Superbill module. Similarly, when you add the procedures, modifiers, and problems through the Superbill module, system automatically enters these into a patient's permanent medical record.
Superbill

The Superbill module consists of the following components:
  • Payer. Enables you to assign services to a specific payer.
  • Assigned Procedures. Displays a summary of the provided services.
  • Available Procedures. Enables you to search and add procedures and modifiers.
  • Available ICDs. Displays all established diagnoses, enables you to add new diagnoses, and displays both the ICD code and description of each problem.
When you create charges for an order based on the charge submission defaults you configure for the respective performing entity in Practice Preferences of File Maintenance, system creates the procedures for the order. When you select Include AUC HCPCS code/modifier automatically for a payer and then manually or automatically create a charge for an order, system adds the Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) modifiers along with the G-codes to the Assigned Procedures list in the following way.
  • The G-code for the order appears as a separate line item. If the AUC modifier of the test is MC, system does not add the G-code line item in the procedures list.
  • The AUC modifier (ME, MF, MG, or MC) determined as per the AUC score for each test in that order appears in the same line item of an ordered test.

If site modifiers are already available for a test, the AUC modifier appear in the following Mx2 modifier column. If you have one or two preconfigured modifiers in File Maintenance at the SIM code level in Service Items in Libraries, the preconfigured modifiers appear in the first modifier column and the AUC modifier appears in the following modifier column.
