Add an Alert

You can add one or more alerts to a patient in NextGen® Enterprise.

You can identify high risk patients and send an alert without having to open the individual charts.

  1. In NextGen Care® Population Management Hub, do one of the following:
    • From the Cohorts tab, run a report.
    • From the My Lists tab, run a list.
    • From the Appointment Book tab, filter the patients.
The patient list appears in the patient grid.
  2. In the patient grid, select the check box next to the patient's name.
  3. Select Alert.

    The Add/Edit Alerts window opens.

  4. Select the check box available next to the alert you want to send.
The comments box, Show in Red & Bold check box, and Pop-up for Acknowledgment check box appears.

  5. In the comments box, enter the comments.
  6. Select the Show in Red & Bold check box if you want to display the alert button in red and bold in NextGen® Enterprise.
  7. Select the Pop-up for Acknowledgment check box to show the acknowledgment window.
  8. Select Save & Close to save and close the selected alerts.
The alerts are added to the selected patients.
  9. From Population Management Tool bottom toolbar, select the Chart list, and select EHR Chart.
The selected patient's chart opens in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. The Alerts button on the Patient Information Card (PIC) turns red in color and displays the alert count.
  10. On the PIC, select Alerts.

The Patient Alerts window opens with EHR tab.

The EHR tab displays the Filter list to filter the alerts along with the flag, type, alert, and comment. The PM tab displays the type, alert, and comment. You have option to Unflag alerts, Unflag and Close alerts, Add/Edit alerts, Remove an alert and close the Patient Alerts window.
