Outsource Charges

To outsource a charge, ensure to enable outsourcing in the Practice Preferences window by selecting Enable outsourcing on the General Preference List.

Outsourcing charges remove the outstanding balances from the accounts receivable by the practice.
  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM.
  2. Select Chart.
    The Patient Lookup window opens.
  3. Enter Search Criteria to locate the desired patient.
  4. Select Find.
    All existing persons and patients that match the search criteria entered display in the Matching Records section of the window.
  5. In the Matching Records list, double-click to open the patient.
    The Patient Chart window opens.
  6. Select the Encounters tab.
  7. Right-click on the encounter, and then select Outsource charges.
    The Outsource Process window opens.

  8. In the Search Criteria section, select Outsource Agency, Department, Financial Class, and Provider fields from the list.
  9. Enter the Outsource Date, SIM From, and To fields.
  10. Select Patient Balance or an Insurance Balance for outsourcing charges.
  11. Enter the minimum amount to search in the Amount From field and the maximum amount in the To field.
  12. Enter the minimum number of days in the Days From field and the maximum number of days in the To field.
  13. Select the Outsourced charges only option to view previously outsourced charges.
  14. In the Charges section, select the line items you want to outsource.
  15. Select Outsource.
  16. To continue, select OK.
    The Export Data to File window opens.

    You can save this information to a file that can be exported to another application.

  17. If you are saving the data to a file, enter the file name in the File name field and select Save.
  18. If you do not want to save this data to a file, select Cancel.
