Components of the Patient Lookup Window

The following table describe the person or patient search criteria fields on the People Lookup window. Search Criteria Description Last, First / Preferred, Middle, Suffix Searches by the patient's name. You can enter the last name, first name (or preferred name), middle name, suffix, or any combination of a patient's name. Note: The Suffix field appears if the Include suffix on lookup screens check box is selected on the General tab of the Practice Preferences and the Name Suffix table is populated in File Maintenance > Master Lists. Previous Last Searches by the previous last name if the patient's last name has changed. City Searches by the city of residence. Address Line 1 Searches by the patient's street address. Zip Searches by the patient's zip code. Mother's Maiden Name Searches by the maiden name of the patient's mother. Social Security Searches by the patient's Social Security Number. Creating Patient Charts

An individual added to NextGen® Enterprise PM without a chart is known as a person. A person may be someone with an existing appointment, an account guarantor, insurance subscriber, or an emergency contact. A person is allocated a unique identifier and stored in the Master Person Index (MPI) which is shared by all individuals within an enterprise system. When you create a chart for a person in a practice, the person qualifies as a patient. Only the practice that creates the patient chart, has access to it. A patient associated with multiple practices has a single demographic record that can be shared with all other practices using MPI. The following table provides information about various columns on the People Lookup and Patient Lookup windows: Column Name Column Description Auto size all columns Automatically resizes all columns to fit the content in each column.
