NextGen Time Zone Support

The NextGen® Enterprise applications can include the time zone when displaying times that apply to patient care, such as encounter date/time and charge date/time. When the time zone feature is activated, the time zone that the applications display reflects the time zone of the computer on which the data was recorded. This is true even when the database server is located in a different time zone. NextGen Healthcare accomplishes this by deriving the local time for each computer from the database time in conjunction with the time zone on the local system. Records are stored in the database with a time stamp that reflects the time for the database server, yet when those records are accessed and displayed, they reflect the time at which the record was recorded from the local computer. When multiple time zone support is enabled in the NextGen® Enterprise applications, the current time zone displays in the time panel in the application's main screen status bar. Storing and Retrieving Documents and Images

You can use NextGen® Document Management, a document storage and retrieval application, to do the following: Scan or import documents and images into a central repository. Scan and view images from a remote location. File and store documents and images. Search and retrieve documents and images. View and annotate documents and images. Note: Use images that are scanned or imported into the system through image acquisition methods, such as File Import, Directory Import, and Scanner or Scan Template, for reference purposes only. Due to the potential discrepancies in image quality, do not use these images for diagnostic purposes. You can scan documents and images by using the following options: RemoteScan® from Quest TSScan from TerminalWorks NextGen® Document Management interfaces with NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the Enterprise Appointment Search Ahead window, when you search for available time slots by selecting a patient, the time slot from practices displays only the patients listed on your inclusion list or all patients except those listed on your Exclusion list in those practices. Significant Events Report

The Significant Events report provides an audit trail for specific user activity that has occurred within the NextGen Enterprise applications. These are known as significant events. When a significant event occurs, a message is recorded in each patient's chart. The message includes the name of the user that performed the event, the date/time the event occurred, and both pre-modification and post-modification information. Some significant events are System Level and are recorded for all practices in all enterprises. Other events are Enterprise Level and are recorded for all practices within the same enterprise. Other events are Practice Level and are recorded for the practice(s) in which they have been enabled.
