NextGen Time Zone Support
The NextGen® Enterprise applications can include the time zone when displaying times that apply to patient care, such as encounter date/time and charge date/time. When the time zone feature is activated, the time zone that the applications display reflects the time zone of the computer on which the data was recorded. This is true even when the database server is located in a different time zone. NextGen Healthcare accomplishes this by deriving the local time for each computer from the database time in conjunction with the time zone on the local system. Records are stored in the database with a time stamp that reflects the time for the database server, yet when those records are accessed and displayed, they reflect the time at which the record was recorded from the local computer. When multiple time zone support is enabled in the NextGen® Enterprise applications, the current time zone displays in the time panel in the application's main screen status bar. Once the functionality is enabled, you cannot disable it.
For more information about activating the multiple time zone feature, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Multiple Time Zone Support white paper.
