Delete Encounter Rate SIM and Rate	NextGen® Enterprise PM	Enables users to delete an encounter rate SIM and encounter rate amount from Encounter Maintenance.
Delete Patient Encounter	NextGen® Enterprise PM &NextGen® Enterprise EHR	Enables users to delete patient encounters.
Demand Bill	NextGen® Enterprise PM	Enables users to access the Bill toolbar button or right-click menu to print individual on-demand itemized bills for claims.
Encounter Search	NextGen® Enterprise PM	Enables users to access the Encounter toolbar button to search for encounters to be billed or rebilled.
In Progress Indicator on New Encounter		Enables users to create encounters in an "In Progress" status by selecting the In Progress check box on the Create Encounter window. Note: Once users select the check box, they cannot clear it unless they change the selection in the Encounter Types field to only Billable.
Lock Patient Encounter	NextGen® Enterprise EHR	Enables users to manually lock a patient encounter.
Pre-List Encounters	NextGen® Enterprise PM	Enables users to pre-list encounters for review before they are turned over to a collection agency and put in "bad debt" status.
Recalculate In Progress Encounter	NextGen® Enterprise PM	Enables users to recalculate all charges on an "In Progress" encounter. When users who have this security right right-click an encounter, the Recalculate In Progress Encounter menu item appears. If users do not have this security right,NextGen® Enterprise PM still automatically recalculates the charges when an encounter status changes from "In Progress" to "Unbilled".
Reinstate Encounter/ Invoice	NextGen® Enterprise PM	Enables users to reinstate encounters and invoices from bad debt (Collections) status.
Unlock Patient Encounters	NextGen® Enterprise EHR	Enables users to unlock a previously locked patient encounter.
Update Encounter Remarks		Enables users to access the Remarks filed on Encounter Maintenance>General tab to add or update remarks on an encounter.
Update Patient Encounter	NextGen® Enterprise PM &NextGen® Enterprise EHR	Enables users to modify encounters in Encounter Maintenance.
View Encounter Summary	NextGen® Enterprise EHR	Enables users to hide/unhide clinical data on the right side of the Encounter Details window.

Claims Operation

Subgroup Used in Description Bulk Rebill NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to flag encounters for rebill in bulk from the Claim Request Lookup window. When the right is set to No, the option to flag the encounters is disabled. Note: The Claim Search right must be set to Yes so that users can access the Claims toolbar button. Claim Edits NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to run claim edits for charges on an encounter to check for errors - it does not bill the encounter. When this right is disabled for a user who uses Autoflow, Autoflow stops when it reaches claim edits. Claim Search NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to use the Claims toolbar button to access the Claim Request Lookup window where they can print, regenerate, and rebill claims. Claims Printing NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to print claim files. Set Security Rights for In-Progress Billing Status

The security rights associated with the In Progress billing status allows you to control the following user rights: Set new encounters to In Progress status. Change the In Progress status of encounters. Recalculate charges in In Progress encounters. Open System Administrator, and then select the enterprise and user. Select Rights > Operations > Encounters. Select access rights for the following: In Progress Indicator on New Encounter – Allows users to manually set the status on new encounters to In Progress in the Create Encounter window. Convert In Progress Batch Process – Allows users to change the status of multiple encounters from In Progress to Unbilled. Users can right-click encounters in the Encounter Lookup window and then select Convert in Progress to Unbilled. Additional In Progress Status Security Rights

The security rights associated with the In Progress billing status enable you to control which users can: Set new encounters to be In Progress encounters change the In Progress status recalculate charges on In Progress encounters In Progress Encounter rights are set up in System Administrator on the Rights tab in Operations > Encounters. Bill Multiple Encounters (Batch Billing)

All encounters in Unbilled or Rebill status with charges can be billed at the same time in a batch. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Encounter. The Encounter Lookup window opens. Select Bill Status, and then select Rebill and Unbilled. Note: Encounters with a status of Bad Debt, Billed or History have already been billed. Clear the Include records without charges check box to exclude encounters that do not have charges. Enter additional Search Criteria to locate the desired encounters. Select Find. Encounters matching the search criteria appear in the Encounter List section of the window. Select Encounter List, and then select all encounters to be billed in the Enc Nbr column. Right-click the encounter and select Bill. A message appears stating that confirm bill processing for the [n] selected encounters. To continue billing the selected encounters, select OK.
