Set Security Rights for In-Progress Billing Status
The security rights associated with the In Progress billing status allows you to control the following user rights:
Set new encounters to In Progress status.
Change the In Progress status of encounters.
Recalculate charges in In Progress encounters.
Open System Administrator, and then select the enterprise and user.
Select Rights > Operations > Encounters.
Select access rights for the following:
In Progress Indicator on New Encounter – Allows users to manually set the status on new encounters to In Progress in the Create Encounter window.
Convert In Progress Batch Process – Allows users to change the status of multiple encounters from In Progress to Unbilled. Users can right-click encounters in the Encounter Lookup window and then select Convert in Progress to Unbilled.
Convert In Progress Demand Process – Allows users to change the encounter status from In Progress to Unbilled. Users can right-click an encounter on the Encounters tab on a patient chart and then select Convert in Progress to Unbilled.
Convert In Progress Indicator – Allows users to modify (select or clear) the Convert In Progress option in the Encounter Maintenance window.
Recalculate In Progress Encounter – Allows NextGen® Enterprise PM users to manually recalculate all charges in encounters with In Progress status.
Note: Even if a user does not have this security right, NextGen® Enterprise PM still automatically recalculates the charges when an encounter status changes from In Progress to Unbilled.
Select Save.
