To send a virtual visit link through NextGen® Patient Engage powered by Luma to patients, your practice must meet the minimum requirements and configure properly.
When a virtual visit appointment is scheduled in NextGen Virtual Visits™, NextGen® Patient Engage powered by Luma collects the patient-specific virtual visit URL and sends to patients 30 minutes and 5 minutes before the appointment time through a text message or email.
To send virtual visit links through NextGen® Patient Engage powered by Luma, you must have the following applications installed and configured in your system:
- NextGen® Enterprise 6.2021 or NextGen® Enterprise 8.
- NextGen Virtual Visits™.
- NextGen® Enterprise API January 2025 or later.
- Your practice team must contact NextGen Healthcare Support to configure the following:
- Luma Integration and corresponding Visit Type and Provider in the Virtual Visits Portal.
- The Visit Type Event modality of Telehealth Visit for the virtual visit event types.
- The virtual visit event types for Custom Actions and Reminders.
- The 30-minute pre-appointment message in the custom action.
- The 5-minute pre-appointment message in the custom action.
- Your practice team must also contact Luma Support to configure the syncAppointmentExternalRawSource setting in Luma Classic.
