Review Your Productive Time and Recommendations from NextGen® Patient Engage powered by Luma

You can review the number of productive hours you have devoted each week to patient schedules and activities. Your practice staff can use the Trends section results to better understand and provide support for scheduling. You can also review your practice's current outcomes compared to the recommended average. Note: For more information, visit Luma Help Center. Open your Luma Dashboard. Select Insights Center > Provider Utilization. The True Time table displays the number of hours you spend in a week. Add the Appointment Charges and Prior Balance Columns to Your Schedule View

While viewing the schedule, you can review and select the appropriate co-pay and additional charges for the appointment based on the patient's insurance eligibility. You can also view notes and staff review information from the Schedule view. Before you begin You must use NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed to access the Appt. Charge and Prior Balance columns in the Schedule Table view. If your practice is using the Additional Visit Charge functionality, the Appt. Charge column indicates the total visit payment charged to the patient. Otherwise, the Appt. Charge column displays only the patient's co-pay. The Prior Balance column displays the current outstanding patient balance. You can use the Note field to add important updates or information related to the appointment for future reference. You can view the following appointment statuses in Staff Review: Needs Review: The tasks related to the patient's appointments need your review or action. Pending Arrival: Pre-visit tasks are complete

Create and Send Messages to Patient Groups

You or your practice staff can send messages about office closures, inform patients about provider absences, and contact patients with the same upcoming procedure up to 10,000 patients at a time without manually calling each patient. To avoid unintentional messages, when sending a bulk message to more than 1,000 patients, the message is sent to the support team for review before sending to patients. After reviewing the message, the support team either approves and sends to patients or requests changes if needed. NextGen Healthcare recommends using only 320 characters and reviewing the NextGen® Patient Engage powered by Luma health message content policy before sending a broadcast message. The support team reviews and approves messages from 6 AM to 5 PM PST within one hour for messages submitted before 12 PM PST on business days. Note: For more information, visit Luma Help Center. Schedule Patient Appointments

Open your Luma Dashboard. To schedule an appointment, do one of the following from the main page: Select Schedule. Select Coordination > Schedule. Select Search, select the patient if available or enter the patient information, and then select the patient. Select Schedule Appointment or Appointments, and then select Schedule Appointment. In the Schedule a new appointment window, verify the patient details, and then select Next. Select the necessary form from the screening question list, and enter the patient information. Select the patient insurance, and then select View Schedule. Select the appropriate time slot, and then select Confirm. Review Patient Insurance Eligibility and Co-pay, and Send Appointment Payment Link to Patients

You can review, add, edit, and save patients' insurance information to NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can also review the co-pay amount and send payment links before the patient's appointment. Before you begin You must do the following: Use the Insurance Writeback integration to automatically update the patient insurance information to NextGen® Enterprise PM. To configure co-pay review, additional charges, and payment sending, contact NextGen Healthcare Support. Open your Luma Dashboard. Do one of the following: Select Schedule. Select Coordination > Schedule. In Schedule, select Table from the Day list next to Filters.The appointments appear in a table. Communicate with Your Patients and Practice Staff

You can use internal notes to communicate with your practice staff and patient care teams to keep patient-specific discussions, staff notes, and message history within the patient chat. Note: Internal notes are available only for providers and practice staff. Open your Luma Dashboard. Select My Chats, or select Communication > Hub. My Chats opens on the Collaboration Hub page. To send a message to a patient, search for and select the patient chat, and clear the Internal message checkbox. Enter your message or insert existing text from Message Library, and then select Send Message, SMS, or Email. You can add the necessary variable inside the brackets from the Insert Squiggly list, lock the message to secure patient health information (PHI) details, and attach a file. For example, if you select the {{patient.firstname}} variable, the application automatically fills in each recipient's first name from the information on their profile.
