Associating Personnel Types to Online Solutions

After the completion of the prerequisites, you can associate the personnel types to the activated online solutions. Note: This excludes association of individual permission to the online solutions. From the Administrator - Setup/Access section, click Permissions and Personnel Types and then click Manage Solutions to open Manage Solutions by Personnel Types page. Assigning Permissions to Individual Users

After the online solutions are associated with the configured personnel types and the locations for each user, click Manage Solutions For Users tab to assign permissions for each individual user. This dictates whether the Physician/Providers/Personnel is displayed in the NextGen® PxP Portal for that solution’s workflow. It also dictates whether the user has permission to that solution within Practice Portal. The Manage Solutions For Users tab enables you to: Filter by personnel types Filter by solution Filter by locations Filter by users Grant permission to the individual user: Accept - Enabled for Solution. Appointment Request and Prescription Renewal uses the “Accept” permission which enables the user to display in portal to patients while using those workflows Enable - Enabled for Solution All labels created for Ask A Staff will have separate permissions to be configured. Permission Setup Workflow: Site Generator to PxP Portal Integration

Adding Information in Site Generator People like Locations, Physicians/Providers, and non-physician personnel are added to the Site Generator. Mapping Information The added Locations, Physicians/Providers, and personnel are linked or mapped within the Site Generator. Creating Ask A Staff Labels Special labels called Ask A Staff are generated. Setting up User Permissions Users are configured with specific permissions, like Enable/Accept, in order to make them available for selection when patients want to send messages on the portal. Integration Tool Rules In the Integration Tool, rules are established to decide where and to whom messages should be sent. This is based on the location and person the patient chose on the portal. Managing Permissions and Personnel Types

You can add Personnel Type and manage permissions and solutions for Personnel (Non-Physicians) and Physicians/Providers. After you set up the permissions, only those personnel who qualify the permission criteria, can enter your website. To add a Personnel Type that is not available in the list, contact NextGen® PxP Portal Integration team. Examples of Appointment Request Logic

In Site Generator for Appointment Request though 'Accept' combination is present, the patient can not neglect location and provider selection. The UI is designed to see location map with providers to select. Note: The Appointment Request solution cannot be manipulated to not require a location and provider combination. Locations accepted for the appointment requests configured in Site Generator require that location to be assigned to the practice in NextGen File Maintenance. Appointment Request To assign location to the practice in NextGen File Maintenance, do the following: Log on to NextGen File Maintenance. Under the Master Files list, click System. Manage Location for Users

The location assignment of providers could impact how patients interact with patient facing solutions in NextGen® PxP Portal. Location assignment plays a crucial role in Site Generator setup. Note: To setup provider, assigned to multiple locations to accept prescription requests, the patient need to choose one of the three location prior to select provider from the provider list dropdown.
