Configuring Billing Codes

The Codes grid in the Codes panel on the NTS Billing Config system template lists all possible codes on the therapy templates. All the listed codes are provided as billing guidelines and follow the coding guidelines. The codes are not payer specific, but you can customize them by payer in the Payer Specific Billing panel. You can sort codes within a specific code type. The sort order determines the order that the codes appear on the Fee Sheet template and the claim. This is a global setting for all practices. Note: If you are using NextGen® Clinical Message Manager, the order in NextGen® Clinical Message Manager overrides the code order if it does not match the order in the Codes panel. To configure payer-specific rules for the use of a code, select the code in this grid and then use the grids in the Payer Specific Billing Panel. Visit Types with More Than One Code

Use the small grid to the right of the Visit Type Setup grid to select which codes may be billed for that visit type when multiple codes are possible. Selected codes display on the Fee Sheet. For example: If you select PT Eval in the Visit Type Setup grid, the grid to the right shows a check mark next to the codes that are setup to appear on the Fee Sheet for the PT Eval visit type. Update Visit Types

You can edit visit types. Select the visit type row in the Visit Type Setup grid. The details move into the fields below the grid. Edit any of the fields as necessary. Select Add/Update. Parent topic: Visit Type Setup Panel

Re-Order Visit Types

You can put visit types in an order that best suits your organization. Select a visit type row in the Visit Type Setup grid. Select the up or down arrows up and down arrow buttons below the grid to move the visit type to the location you want it in the order. Billing Configuration

Use the NTS Billing Config system template panels to configure how charges are displayed on the Fee Sheet. Enter a New Visit Type

You can enter a new visit type, but you cannot add or change groups or visit sets; they are hard-coded. Visit Type Setup panel with highlighted fields used for adding visit types Select the field below the Visit Type column. Enter the name of the new visit type. Select the field below the Visit Set column twice. A picklist opens. Select a Visit Set, and then select OK. Select the field below the Group column twice. Note: If no visit group is assigned, you cannot configure a document to run automatically upon submission of Fee Sheet. Refer to Auto Documents on Fee Sheet for how to configure automatic document generation. The Ainf Visit Groups picklist opens. Select a Visit Group. The group enters the field and the picklist closes. Select the Mod field and type GP, GO or GN to indicate if the visit type needs a modifier. Select the checkboxes as needed to indicate whether the visit type: Can be used to bill a Re-eval if selected on Single Visit or Fee Sheet Will count toward the patient’
