Configure Skill and To Gain Fields

You can configure settings for financial categories and payers who do or do not require entries in the Skill and To Gain fields. Select the field under the Fin Category. Treatment Skill/Gain (Intent) settings on the PT/OT Treatment Template Panel The Fin Category window opens. Select a financial category or select the asterisk * to apply the setting to all financial categories. To apply the setting to only a certain payer in the financial category, select the field under Payer Name, and then select the payer. Otherwise, the field shows an asterisk, and the setting applies to all payers in that Financial category. Select the option for the setting that you want to apply. Select Add/Update. PT/OT Treatment Template Panel: Treatment Grid Order

On the Treatment template, based on the Visit Type selected, you can choose the position of the Therapeutic Exercise, Therapeutic Activity and Neuro Re-Education grids. In the Filter field, select the visit type you want to rearrange the grids for, and then use the up and down arrows below the grid to adjust the Grid Position. Best practice is to set all PT visit types to have the same grid positioning, and all OT visit types to have the same grid positioning. Skill and To Gain

Below each grid on the NTS Treatment template you may see the Skill and To Gain fields. These may be configured to be hidden, optional, or required, based on the patient’s insurance (financial class/payer). Note: For information on configuring sub-navigation links, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Configuration Guide for NextGen® Therapy Suite. Use the Skill fields to enter the skills that the therapist used to assist the patient in the therapy on this encounter, and the To Gain fields to enter justifications (intent) for each therapy that was completed with the patient on this encounter. For either of these types of fields, you can select multiple picklist entries and enter text. The entries in the fields are incorporated into statements on the Office Note. Treatment Section

The treatment grid shows therapies and education that you have documented for the patient. You can document therapies completed with the patient using any of the treatment templates in the left-hand list. The therapies documented on the templates are billable, with the exception of the Education template, which always shows a billable Total Time entry of zero. Add Therapy Goals Manually

You can manually add each goal. Note: Alternatively, you can quickly add standard goals by using QuickPicks. See QuickPicks. If you do not want to use picklists to enter goal details, you can turn them off in the Practice Config practice template in the Legacy Picklist Functionality setting of the Goals panel. Open the NTS Therapy Goals template. NTS Therapy Goals template Enter all the details that are required for saving the goal: In the Type field, select the type of goal. Enter the Goal and Function. Enter the total number of weeks the patient is expected to achieve the goal. If necessary, in Response to Treatment, document the patient’s treatment response for the goal. For example, you could enter the treatment response as the percentage of goal completion. In Status, you can select the status of the goal or leave the field blank. For example, you can capture the patient’s current status towards achieving the goal or the status when the patient was initially transferred mid-treatm
