Treatment Skill/Gain (Intent)

Use the Treatment Skill/Gain (Intent) grid to configure the use of the Skill and To Gain fields on the Treatment template. These fields can be configured in any of the following states based on the requirements of the financial class or payer: Not Required - Hide – The fields do not appear on the template. Use this when no payers need the fields filled in. Not Required - Show – The fields appear on the template, but insurers do not require them, and users may leave them blank and still submit charges on the encounter. Required – If the user documents treatment in any grid on the template that has Skill and To Gain fields, then the user must also enter values in the Skill and To Gain fields for that grid in order to submit charges on that encounter. Skill and To Gain

Below each grid on the NTS Treatment template you may see the Skill and To Gain fields. These may be configured to be hidden, optional, or required, based on the patient’s insurance (financial class/payer). Note: For information on configuring sub-navigation links, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Configuration Guide for NextGen® Therapy Suite. Use the Skill fields to enter the skills that the therapist used to assist the patient in the therapy on this encounter, and the To Gain fields to enter justifications (intent) for each therapy that was completed with the patient on this encounter. For either of these types of fields, you can select multiple picklist entries and enter text. The entries in the fields are incorporated into statements on the Office Note. Set Up Tasks for Auto Creation by Payer

On the Auto Create Payer/Fin Class tab on the Task Types window, you can set tasks to be automatically assigned to a group or to users based on the payer or the payer's financial class. When a task is created for an encounter task type, and the encounter matches the location selected on this tab, the task is assigned to the selected users and groups. To set up a task to automatically generate, perform the following steps: Open or set up a new task types. In the Source Type field, select Encounter. This field is required. The Auto Create Location tab is enabled. On the Auto Creation tab, select the actions that trigger the task. If you want to assign a value to the task for reporting purposes, select the up and down arrows in the Task Value field. The higher the number, the more important the task is. This number ranks all of the tasks by source type. Therefore, if you have three tasks with a source type of encounter and they have task values of 1, 5, and 10, the task with a task value

Configure a Financial Category Replacement Code

Select the code in the CPT Codes grid (in the CPT Codes panel) that you want to apply a replacement code for. Select the Financial Category field under the Financial Category Replacement Code grid. CPT Codes panel and Payer Specific Billing panel A picklist opens, of all financial categories that have been configured for your organization. Select the financial category, and then select OK. If this replacement only applies to a specific payer within a financial category, select the Payer Name field and select a payer from the list. Otherwise leave this field blank, and the replacement code will apply to all payers within that financial class. If this replacement applies only to a specific visit set, select the Visit Set field, and then select the visit set. Otherwise leave this field blank.
