Treatment Plan

The Treatment Plan field uses a multipick picklist that contains terms and phrases that Medicare looks for. You can also free type in this field. The grid below the Treatment Plan field lists which treatments are planned to rehabilitate the patient. If the Category field entry is Default, you see the general picklist for treatment items. If you select a category Women’s Health, Ped, Vestibular, Work Comp, or Low Vision, you see the picklists specific to those specialties. Note: Categories and associated picklists can be configured in the Picklist manager practice template. Use the Treatment Plan Misc field to type in miscellaneous notes about the plan. Add Treatment Plan Details for PT/OT and Speech Visits

In the NTS Single Visit or NTS Speech Single Visit template, expand the Plan panel, and then go to the Treatment Plan section. If this is the first visit in this case, the Treatment grid will be empty. Afterwards, when you open this template, all entries in the grid copy forward from the prior visit. Select a category of treatment activities by doing one of the following: To enter general treatment activities, select Default. To enter treatment activities specific to a specialty, select a specialty category. Note: Administrators can configure categories and associated picklists in the NTS Picklist Manager practice template. Select the Treatment field. A picklist of treatment items opens. Do one of the following to add all treatment activities you plan to use to rehabilitate the patient: Select the items from the picklist, and then select Close or Done. Indicate the Treatment Plan Changed and Generate a New POC

When you change a PT/OT or speech treatment plan after the plan of care (POC) has been established, a new POC must be generated. In the NTS Single Visit or NTS Speech Single Visit template, expand the Plan panel, and then go to the Treatment Plan section. Update the activities in the treatment plan grid. If the POC was established before your changes, the Treatment Plan Changed. A New POC is Needed checkbox appears below the Treatment grid. (The checkbox does not appear when there are no changes). Enter the Treatment Plan Summary

You can construct a summary of the physical, occupational, or speech therapy treatment plan by combining text with phrases selected from a picklist. In the Single Visit or Speech Single Visit template, expand the Plan panel. If you want to write the summary, select the Treatment Plan field, and then enter the text. If you want to select specific phrases from a picklist, do the following: Select the arrow button arrow button. A picklist opens. Select all necessary phrases in the picklist. As you select each phrase, it is automatically added to end of the Treatment Plan text. When you finish adding phrases, select Done or Close. Create a Treatment Plan for the Patient

Treatment plans are set up on the PT Treatment Setup template. The PT Treatment Setup template displays the Menu and the Treatment Plan panels. The Menu panel displays a list of treatment categories in the left pane. The Treatment Plan panel grid displays the treatment options previously selected for the patient. Treatment plans configured on the PT Treatment Setup template appear in the Performed Today section in the Treatment Panel and carry forward to future encounters. On the Objective template, click the Treatment button in the Treatment panel to launch the PT Treatment Setup template. Pt Treatment Setup Click the Body region field and select from the list. The Menu panel grid displays all treatment options for the selected region. Select a treatment category from the left pane. The Menu panel grid refreshes to display that category’s treatment options for the region. Click the rows in the Menu panel grid that display a treatment you wish to include in the patient’s plan. Treatment Plan

Use the Treatment Plan grid to identify what action needs to occur after today’s visit. To enter a treatment, select the field above the grid, and then select an item from the picklist. For example: Refer back to primary physician, Consider referral to ENT physician, Continue intervention services as needed, and so on.
