CPT Code/Payer-Specific Alerts

You can configure payer-specific alerts to show on each of the code grids on Treatment. These alerts: Can be set up to show on any template that billable codes are documented on. Can be used to notify users if a payer has specific rules regarding billing certain CPT codes. Any rule configured shows up in blue text next to the CPT code with a blue information button. The information button opens a window to display the details of the alert. In the following example, Therapeutic activity 97530 is Not Reimbursed for the attached payer. Enter Treatments/Activities for a Body Area

By default, when you open the template, all grids are in Grid-Edit mode and the D button for all grids is active (D). Therefore, unless you clear the D checkbox, when you add new therapies to grids, they are marked as “Done.” Select the Body Area field. The Body Area picklist opens. Select the body area that the treatment or activity is designed to help, and then select OK. Make sure the grid is in Grid-Edit mode. For more information, see Treatment Template Editing Modes. Select the Item field. A picklist of therapies for the selected body part opens. Treatment picklist for the Item field Select an item from the picklist or, to type the entry in the Item field, select the blank at the top of the picklist. Select the Reps, Sets, and Resistance as appropriate. In the S field, indicate the side that the treatment is performed on by selecting R, L, or B for right side, left side, or both. If you are performing the treatment or exercise today, make sure that the D checkbox is selected. If

Delete Individual Treatments or Activities

If the grid is in Grid-Edit mode, put the grid in Single-Edit mode. (Select the Edit button). Select the item you want to delete from the grid. Select Delete. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to delete any other therapy items. Note: If you have selected the last item in the grid to delete, an alert opens for you to confirm that you want to clear all entries from the grid. Select Cancel for that grid. Entering Time for Treatments

You can document the unattended and individual time spent with a patient for each applicable code using the fields below each grid on the NTS Treatment template. If an assistant led the therapy for any part of the time, you can indicate that in the Asst Time field. You can enter the time that a therapist spent with the patients in group therapy in the Group Time field and enter the size of the group in the Group Size field. If an assistant led the group therapy for any part of the time, you can indicate that in the Group Asst Time field. Note: The checkbox next to the Asst Time or Group Asst Time fields gets selected if the assistant time is more than the configured % of the total time. If PT/OT students treat the patient under the general supervision of the therapist, you can enter the time in the Total General Supervised Student Time field. Update a Single Grid Entry

To change the details of an item already in the grid, the grid must be in Single-Edit mode. If the grid is in Grid-Edit mode, select the Edit button to put the grid in Single-Edit mode. Edit button in Grid-Edit Mode The Edit button changes to Cancel. Select the activity in the grid. The activity information fills the fields above the grid. Update the entries in the fields. Updated entries Note: When editing a single item, the D checkbox is automatically marked. If you do not want the exercise to be marked as “Done” for this encounter, clear the D checkbox. Treatment Section

The treatment grid shows therapies and education that you have documented for the patient. You can document therapies completed with the patient using any of the treatment templates in the left-hand list. The therapies documented on the templates are billable, with the exception of the Education template, which always shows a billable Total Time entry of zero.
