Assign Rights to a Security Group

You can manage or assign rights within NextGen® Therapy Suite to different security groups created in the System Administrator. For more information on creating security groups, download the latest System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise from NextGen Healthcare Success Community. On the NTS System Config system template, expand the Security Groups and Sign Off panel. Under the Security Group Category Configuration grid, select the field below the Security Group column, and then select the Security Group you want to assign rights to. Security Group Category/Payer Overrides

Use Security Group Category/Payer Overrides grid to create alerts that users, based on their security group and the patient’s payer on the case, will see on the NTS Homepage template. The Allow and Prevent options work in conjunction with the Action column to override the setting of Bill & Sign permissions (see Security Group Category Bill & Sign Visit Type Permissions) when a payer is an exception to the general setting. Security Group Category Bill & Sign Visit Type Permissions

After your security group categories are built, use the Category Bill & Sign Visit Type Permissions grid to assign which "Bill & Sign" rights each category has based on the visit type. Visit types in the Bill and Sign column are visits that the user or security group can sign off on without any restrictions (that is, they do not need supervisor approval). Visit types in the Sign Off column are the visits that the user or security group can document on, but that require supervisor sign-off to submit charges. User Defined Signoff

Use this section to configure additional sign-off options to suit the needs of your practice. There are four user-configurable signature fields. Select a row in the grid. Enter the label that you want to see for the checkbox on Single Visit (for example, Additional Therapist, External Physician, Ordering Physician, or Treatment Coordinator). User Defined Signoff grid in the Security Groups and Sign Off section of the System Config template If you want the document to show a heading above that signer’s name, enter it in the field below the Doc Header column. Note: NextGen Healthcare suggests text that indicates that the person signed electronically. Assign permission based on the signoff rights at the top of the NTS System Config template. User Sign-Off

The Sign off checkboxes are based on the selected visit type. Each sign-off checkbox is linked to specific security groups, as configured on the System Configuration system template. Sign off fields When Fee Sheet is submitted, the sign-off happens automatically for the therapist or supervising therapist. If your application is configured to require a supervising signature, an assistant, a new grad, or a student cannot submit the bill. They are instructed to sign off on the Single Visit template. After the sign-off, a task is sent to the supervising therapist to let them know that there is a chart ready for review.
