Modalities

You can document all the modalities completed with the patient on the Modalities or Additional Modalities template. You can document following modalities on the Modalities template. Hot/Cold Therapy (97010) Ultrasound (97035) Iontophoresis (97033) Fluidotherapy (97022) Vasopneumatic Device (97016) Electrical Stimulation (97014) Modalities template If you perform a modality at the same time as another treatment that you are billing for, select the corresponding Concurrent with exercise checkbox to suppress the billing. The selected modality appears on the Fee Sheet as Concurrent and Not Billed. You must enter the time for all the documented modalities in the corresponding Total Min or Min fields. If an assistant performed the therapy, then you can enter their time in the Asst Time fields. The time entered for all the modalities is combined and displayed in the Total time field. Check Medication-Specific Interactions for a Problem

You can check if there are drug interactions between the prescribed medications in the Medications module using the Billing ICD entry in the Billing ICD List Display Area. Select a Billing ICD entry in the Billing ICD List data entry area. Select Check Interactions. If there are no interactions, the application displays nothing and maintains the Billing ICD List display. If there are interactions, the application displays the Drug Interaction window. Drug Interaction Note: You cannot acknowledge (and enter a reason for acknowledging) the drug interaction information displayed through the Billing ICD List tab. This information is for notification only. You can only acknowledge a Drug Interaction through the Medications module and only if the diagnosis is assigned before the medication is prescribed. If you assign the medication first and then assign the problem, you are not able to acknowledge (and enter a reason for acknowledging) the drug interaction. You can, however, select Done to

Add Anesthesia Details for Debridement

You can enter the details of the anesthesia for documenting the debridement, burn, and wound care procedures. Before you begin Make sure that the IORTSproc Debride template is open, and the details of the debridement, burn, and wound care procedures are added. Anesthesia details on the IORTS Debridement template On the IORTSproc Debride template, in the Anesthetic per procedure section, click the Source field. The Source window opens. Note: The Source window displays only the non-billable drugs. Select the medication source in the list, and click OK. The windows open subsequently for the selection of medication and lot number. Select the medication and lot number from the respective windows. The application runs a DUR check after you select the lot number. If the DUR check finds no contraindications, the Qty list opens. You can select the quantity from the list. If the DUR check is not completed, a message appears. You can close the window. If the DUR check finds contraindications for

Disease Contraindication

A new medication prescribed to a patient can have a negative interaction with an existing patient diagnosis. If a contraindication occurs, the Drug Interaction window opens. The window specifies the medication that caused the contraindication, and information about each prescribed medication that causes a drug interaction. The Reference at the bottom of the window displays the citation for the DUR information. You must acknowledge all drug interactions and select a reason for overriding the warning before you can add the medication. The medication interaction process displays drug interactions according to the display levels set for the system and a specific user. The medication interaction process does not perform checks on user-defined medications. If the Enterprise option to check for interactions across practices is enabled, the medication interaction process checks for possible interactions across all practices.
