Goals

The Goals grid displays data entered on the Therapy Goal template. You must enter at least one goal on an Eval visit to be able to submit charges. There will be a hard stop on the Fee Sheet if a patient does not have any active goals. You must update at least one goal on a Re-Eval or Progress visit. Assign the Same Status to All Active Goals

You can select a status to assign to all active goals that have not yet been updated for the current encounter. The status will also update for goals that expire in current encounter and goals that expired after the last encounter. You can only perform this action once on any encounter date. Note: Active goals are goals that are not expired or any goal that has not been marked as Has met goal. Marking a goal with the status of Has met goal means the patient has met that goal and the therapist is done working on it. If a goal has the status of Has met goal or New problem – goal met, the system stops tracking the goal after that encounter, and the therapist will not be alerted to update that goal again when it expires or has expired. Open the Therapy Goal template. In Status Update for Multiple Goals, enter a status. The Update button becomes available. Select Update to save the status to all active goals that had not yet been updated for the current encounter. You can only perform this

Archive Goals

Before you begin To archive goals, you must select Enabled for the Archive Goals setting on the NTS Practice Settings practice template. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Configuration Guide for NextGen® Therapy Suite. You can archive an active goal, for example, if the goal is no longer applicable to the patient's case. Note: Once a goal is archived, you cannot edit it unless you restore it. On the NTS Therapy Goals template, select a goal in the Goals grid. The goal details appear in the corresponding fields. Select the Archive Goal checkbox. On the template, a message appears that notifies you that to archive a goal, you must update the status. Restore an Archived Goal

If you accidentally archive a goal, you can only restore it from the same encounter that it was archived in. You cannot restore an archived goal in future encounters. If you decide to continue the activities related to an archived goal, you must recreate the goal. On the encounter that the goal was archived in, open the NTS Therapy Goals template. To see archived goals in the Goals grid, set the grid filter to Archived. The archived goals appear in the grid. Select the archived goal. Clear the Archive checkbox. Add Therapy Goals Manually

You can manually add each goal. Note: Alternatively, you can quickly add standard goals by using QuickPicks. See QuickPicks. If you do not want to use picklists to enter goal details, you can turn them off in the Practice Config practice template in the Legacy Picklist Functionality setting of the Goals panel. Open the NTS Therapy Goals template. NTS Therapy Goals template Enter all the details that are required for saving the goal: In the Type field, select the type of goal. Enter the Goal and Function. Enter the total number of weeks the patient is expected to achieve the goal. If necessary, in Response to Treatment, document the patient’s treatment response for the goal. For example, you could enter the treatment response as the percentage of goal completion. In Status, you can select the status of the goal or leave the field blank. For example, you can capture the patient’s current status towards achieving the goal or the status when the patient was initially transferred mid-treatm

Enter New Therapy Goals for the Patient

Therapy goals are based on information documented for the reason for visit, History of Present Illness (HPI), and physical exam for the patient. Preconfigured therapy goals configurations are packaged with the system. Clients can add customized goals and modify or remove existing ones. Goals can be added, updated or removed. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Objective template, on the Goals panel, click the Add button to launch the Therapy Goals template, which displays accumulated goals listed in the Available Goals grid. Therapy Goals Highlight a row in the Available Goals grid to select a goal. Click the Goal type field and select the type of goal from the picklist.The remaining fields display additional details for the goal. Click the Weeks field and select the number of weeks to reach the goal, if appropriate. Click Add.The Added goals grid displays the new goal. Click Save & Close to return to the Objective template.
