Finclass and Payer Settings Panel

From the Finclass and Payer Settings panel, you can: Require and track the Plan of Care document on payers. Create default carbon copy (CC) recipients to appear on selected financial classes. Add a Finclass or Payer Setting

In the NTS System Config template, expand the Finclass and Payer Settings panel, and then select the text field below the Fin Class Name column. A picklist opens that displays the full list of financial classes built in File Maintenance. Choose the financial class that you want to set up. (Optional) To apply your setting only to a specific payer in that financial class, select the text field below the Payer Name column. The default is all payers, indicated by an asterisk (*). Choose one of the options below the Script / POC column: POC – Req – a POC is required on all payers in this financial class. The POC will be generated as needed when the Fee Sheet is submitted, is tracked in the POC worklog, and must be signed off so that care can continue. POC – Track – a POC document will be generated as needed upon submission of Fee Sheet submission, be tracked in the POC worklog, and IF signed and returned will update the script on Homepage. If the POC is not returned, the staff can remove it

Track MCR Certification

Determine if the financial class should be tracking the Medicare Certification Period that is on Homepage. If you have Medicare payers in different financial classes, set up each of the financial classes to add dates to the Medicare Certification period on Homepage. Add the Financial Class. In the MCR Cert column select either Primary or Any option. Select the Add/Update button. This then tracks the Medicare Certification Period based on your longest goal or 90 days, whichever is shorter. For non-Medicare financial classes in this grid, enter No for the MCR Cert column. Requiring Progress Visits

You can specify if a Progress visit will be required by number of days or number of visits, whichever comes first, for either the patient’s primary insurance or a payer listed anywhere on the case. Finclass Settings in the Finclass and Payer Settings panel of the System Config template You can configure the requirement for an entire financial class or a specific payer. Once set up, an alert appears when the NTS Homepage is opened to let the therapist know that a progress visit is needed on the visit. If configured, a Progress visit must be done on that visit, or you will not be able to submit charges; there will be a hard stop on Fee Sheet – cannot submit charges. MCR Clinical Impression

Determine if the financial category selected will be able to require/view/hide the Medicare Clinical Impression that is shown on Single Visit as Medical Necessity. This field is required on Medicare patients with an Eval or Progress Visit. Required and on an eval visit type or checked the re-eval charge checkbox, the med necessity field is red. The label will be red on visits that this is required on, and it is a hard stop on Fee Sheet. If the financial class is set to Required, the therapist will not be able to submit charges on an eval or progress visit type without completing documentation in the Medical Necessity field. Not Required – Show makes the field visible on Single Visit on an Eval or Progress visit type, but it will not be a hard stop on Fee Sheet if they choose to not fill it out. Add Script to Note

You can generate a script document when you submit to superbill depending on how your practice communicates with ordering providers. If you have configured the payer to either not generate a POC document or not require the POC or script, you can generate a script document. Note: In the Finclass and Payer Settings panel of the System Configuration system template, you can set how you would like your practice to communicate with the ordering providers. Options include: require a POC, track a POC, use scripts, or none of these, based on the requirements of the financial class/payer. In the NTS Single Visit or NTS Speech Single Visit template, expand the Plan panel. If a payer is configured as either Script or None, the Add Script to Note checkbox appears below the treatment plan.
