Requiring Progress Visits

You can specify if a Progress visit will be required by number of days or number of visits, whichever comes first, for either the patient’s primary insurance or a payer listed anywhere on the case. Finclass Settings in the Finclass and Payer Settings panel of the System Config template You can configure the requirement for an entire financial class or a specific payer. Once set up, an alert appears when the NTS Homepage is opened to let the therapist know that a progress visit is needed on the visit. If configured, a Progress visit must be done on that visit, or you will not be able to submit charges; there will be a hard stop on Fee Sheet – cannot submit charges. Track MCR Certification

Determine if the financial class should be tracking the Medicare Certification Period that is on Homepage. If you have Medicare payers in different financial classes, set up each of the financial classes to add dates to the Medicare Certification period on Homepage. Add the Financial Class. In the MCR Cert column select either Primary or Any option. Select the Add/Update button. This then tracks the Medicare Certification Period based on your longest goal or 90 days, whichever is shorter. For non-Medicare financial classes in this grid, enter No for the MCR Cert column. Finclass Settings

Use the Finclass Settings grid to specify financial classes and payers within financial classes that: Require a Plan of Care (POC – Req) Track a Plan of Care (POC – Track) Use the Script document (Script) Require none of the above (None) In this grid, you can also set timeframe requirements for scripts and progress visits. Change Effective and/or Expiration date

You can change the Effective date and/or Expiration date for a financial class that uses ICD-9 codes. On the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config practice template, expand the Manage Financial Class/Payer Listing panel. Select the financial class from the grid. Edit the dates by clicking in the date fields below the grid. Click Add/Update. The changed dates default the ICD-9 codes for the selected payer until the expiration date. Medicare Certification Period

The Medicare Certification Period fields track the timeframe if Medicare is attached to the case. The date fields are populated when the POC is generated. They match the POC dates if the POC is 90 days or less. If the POC is greater than 90 days, the Medicare Certification Period cuts off at 90 days (or the timeframe configured in the System Config system template) to stay complaint with your state’s guidelines, and the system alerts you to update your POC. Change Effective and Expiration Dates for Financial Classes

You can change effective and expiration dates for financial classes that accept ninth revision codes of International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9). On the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template, expand the Manage Financial Class/Payer Listing panel. Select the financial class to be updated from the financial class grid. The effective and expiration dates are filled in their respective fields. Change the effective and expiration dates as needed. Select Update. The changes are saved to the financial class grid, and the ICD-9 codes are configured as default for payers in the selected financial class until the expiration date.
