Frequency and Duration

You can enter the frequency and duration of treatment. Frequency indicates how often the patient will be treated. The total duration of treatment is pulled from the longest goal. In the example below, the expectation is for the patient to be seen with a frequency of 2 times per week for a duration of 4 weeks. Examples of frequency and duration entries If you are submitting a POC to an ordering provider who often rejects longer proposed durations, you can change the duration by selecting the duration text field (after “for”), and then selecting a shorter duration. By making this change, the overall duration of the goals entered does not change; only the total duration of the POC changes. When the POC expires, an alert notifies you to update your goals to generate a new POC. MCR Clinical Impression

Determine if the financial category selected will be able to require/view/hide the Medicare Clinical Impression that is shown on Single Visit as Medical Necessity. This field is required on Medicare patients with an Eval or Progress Visit. Required and on an eval visit type or checked the re-eval charge checkbox, the med necessity field is red. The label will be red on visits that this is required on, and it is a hard stop on Fee Sheet. If the financial class is set to Required, the therapist will not be able to submit charges on an eval or progress visit type without completing documentation in the Medical Necessity field. Not Required – Show makes the field visible on Single Visit on an Eval or Progress visit type, but it will not be a hard stop on Fee Sheet if they choose to not fill it out. Viewing a Summary of Patient and Case Details

While working with a patient in any Single Visit template, you can quickly reference case and patient details gathered from the NTS Homepage and NTS Surgery templates. You view these details in the Case Details side panel that appears any time you are on a Single Visit template. From the side panel, you can do the following: Review alerts and precautions. The Alerts button appears if any of the Yes options are selected on the NTS Homepage template. A yellow icon appears next to Precautions when precaution information exists. Open the Rapid Flowsheet Worklog template. Review information about surgeries, insurance, and precertifications. Review dates of onset, next appointment, start of care, progress visits, and the active script and POC periods. An icon next to the following fields indicates the item may need attention or followup: Last Progress Visit and Due in - If there are less than three visits remaining until the next progress visit is due, a yellow exclamation icon appears next

You can configure the following settings for Single Visit template in the Single Visit section of the NTS Practice Config practice template. Configure Time Based Alert for Eval and Re-Eval Visits

You can configure the alert to notify the therapists that they have not documented enough time for the evaluation or re-evaluation portion of the visit as per the practice standards. On the NTS Practice Config practice template, go to the Fee Sheet section. Eval and Re-Eval Time Difference settings in the Fee Sheet section of the Practice Config template For Eval and Re-Eval Time Difference settings, do the following: In the field below the Visit Set column of the grid, select the therapy type. Select Eval or Re-Eval. In the field below Minutes column of the grid, enter the desired minimum time difference between Total Active Visit Time and Treatment time. Select one of the following for alert type: Alert Only. Select this option, if you want to configure the alert that enables the user to submit charges without changing the documented times. Hard Stop. Select this option, if you want to configure the alert that forces the user to update the documented times to meet the minimum differe

Indicate the Treatment Plan Changed and Generate a New POC

When you change a PT/OT or speech treatment plan after the plan of care (POC) has been established, a new POC must be generated. In the NTS Single Visit or NTS Speech Single Visit template, expand the Plan panel, and then go to the Treatment Plan section. Update the activities in the treatment plan grid. If the POC was established before your changes, the Treatment Plan Changed. A New POC is Needed checkbox appears below the Treatment grid. (The checkbox does not appear when there are no changes).
