Document a DME Supply Item

Select the Types field, and then select the supply category. DME Item Types picklist The grid displays all items of that type and their supply CPT codes. Note: All Types and supply CPT codes tied to Types are configured in the Billing Configuration template. Select the supply item from the grid. The item description, code, and price appear in a row of fields to the right of the grid. Item details added to secondary grid Indicate a Qty. This is required. Select the R, L, or B option for right side, left side, or both. This drives RT, LT, or both modifiers that attach to the CPT code. Create an encounter in NextGen® Enterprise EHR that is attached to the case. Open Homepage, and then select the DME Only visit type. DME Only visit type selected Select the DME Only tab. Document Orthosis and DME Management

Use the Orthosis/DME template to dispense and bill durable medical equipment (DME), document orthosis and orthotic planning, and track billable time for the fitting of and training on orthotics, prosthetics, and braces, and for cast application. Note: All DME items that can be listed in the orthosis grid are set up in the Billing Configuration system template. Select the Types field. The DME Item Types picklist opens and displays a list of DME types. DME Item Types picklist Select the kind of DME items you want to view. Items related to the selected DME type appear in the grid. Select an item from the grid. The details relevant to selected item appear in the corresponding fields to the right of the grid. Indicate a Quantity and if the item is specific to R, L, or B. Configure Additional Documents

You can configure a custom DME document to open when a therapist selects the DME Signoff button on the NTS PT Orthosis template. The document you select replaces the default template that the button opens. Note: Currently, you can configure only the DME document that is associated with the signature pad for patient signature. Open the Document Configuration template and go to the Additional Document Configuration grid. Sign Off as Scribe

If the Scribe Encounter checkbox on the Home template is selected for the current encounter, the scribe can sign off before submitting charges or the provider signs off on the Finalize Visit template. Select the Scribe signoff checkbox. Scribe signoff check box on the Billable Visit template This enters the user’s name with a date and timestamp, and generates the document if PAQ functionality is enabled. Note: You can make the scribe's approval required or optional for submitting charges on scribe encounters by using the Finalize Visit Settings panel of the IORTS Practice Configuration template. Document the Fracture Care Details of a Patient

You can add the fracture care assessment using the Fracture Care/casting/strapping template. On the Fracture Care/casting/strapping-Proc template, click the Assessment Tool link and select the diagnosis from the Fracture Casting Strapping category. Click the Add Common Assessment link and select an assessment from the Common assessment template. Click Save & Close. In Episode of Care, select either New episode or Return Visit. Select Right or Left. In the Casting section: If required, select No Cast Charge, No Supplies Charge, or No DME Charge. The code is automatically populated in the Code field when you select a diagnosis using Assessment Tool. Click Cast, Other/Additional Casting Applications, and Modification and Status to select the required values from the respective picklists. In the Splinting/Strapping section, click Splints, Additional Splinting, Strapping, and Additional Strapping to select values from the respective picklists.
