Document Configuration

Use the NTS Document Config template to set up document generator servers and printers that your organization will be using. You can also specify which documents generate on certain visit types. Document Orthosis and DME Management

Use the Orthosis/DME template to dispense and bill durable medical equipment (DME), document orthosis and orthotic planning, and track billable time for the fitting of and training on orthotics, prosthetics, and braces, and for cast application. Note: All DME items that can be listed in the orthosis grid are set up in the Billing Configuration system template. Select the Types field. The DME Item Types picklist opens and displays a list of DME types. DME Item Types picklist Select the kind of DME items you want to view. Items related to the selected DME type appear in the grid. Select an item from the grid. The details relevant to selected item appear in the corresponding fields to the right of the grid. Indicate a Quantity and if the item is specific to R, L, or B. If one of the options is selected, you will see RT/LT modifiers attached to the CPT code on the Fee Sheet. Order Internal Equipment in the Internal DME Template

You can order durable medical equipment (DME) your practice can dispense. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Internal DME. The Internal DME template opens. To add diagnoses and procedures for the order, select Dx & Px. Note: Selecting procedures is optional; however, you must select at least one diagnosis to order equipment. Select an item from the Orthotics and Prosthetics grid. The following fields are automatically filled: Item Charge Deposit Body Region Note: You can select any off-the-shelf (O), custom (C), or cash (CA) item. You can add, update, and delete items in the Orthotics and Prosthetics grid. Optional: Modify the charge. Note: By default, Insurance displays the payer's name from the encounter-level insurance, and Date displays the encounter date. Enter the duration, brace adjustment values, and size of the equipment. Document Orthosis Management

Under Orthosis Management, use the checkboxes and fields to capture the Objective, Assessment, and Plan for the orthosis. Orthosis Management section If billing for the application of an upper extremity cast, select Application of Cast UE (29085), and then enter details in the Details field as needed. Application of Cast UE (29085) fields When documentation is completed, select the Sign off checkbox. The additional fields automatically display your username, date, and time of signoff. Sign off fields To generate the document for the patient to sign stating they received the DME item, select DME Signoff. Select Save & Close to save your changes and close the template. Document a DME Supply Item

Select the Types field, and then select the supply category. DME Item Types picklist The grid displays all items of that type and their supply CPT codes. Note: All Types and supply CPT codes tied to Types are configured in the Billing Configuration template. Select the supply item from the grid. The item description, code, and price appear in a row of fields to the right of the grid. Item details added to secondary grid Indicate a Qty. This is required. Select the R, L, or B option for right side, left side, or both. This drives RT, LT, or both modifiers that attach to the CPT code. User Defined Signoff

Use this section to configure additional sign-off options to suit the needs of your practice. There are four user-configurable signature fields. Select a row in the grid. Enter the label that you want to see for the checkbox on Single Visit (for example, Additional Therapist, External Physician, Ordering Physician, or Treatment Coordinator). User Defined Signoff grid in the Security Groups and Sign Off section of the System Config template If you want the document to show a heading above that signer’s name, enter it in the field below the Doc Header column. Note: NextGen Healthcare suggests text that indicates that the person signed electronically. Assign permission based on the signoff rights at the top of the NTS System Config template. You can select 'ALL'. Use the Yes checkbox below the Generate Doc column to specify if you would like new documents to be generated when that sign off checkbox is checked.
