Send Documents and Images as Attachments

Before you begin You must add the required documents and images to a patient's chart. The documents and images that are added to the patient's encounter include items, such as: Emails Growth charts Local files Patient Education Materials You can also send NextGen® Document Management images, and SAP Crystal Reports as attachments in communication messages. For more information on NextGen® Enterprise EHR documents, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest the Layout and Preferences Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR.CAUTION: If the size exceeds the limit, a message lists the documents that exceeding 15 MB. View NextGen® PxP Portal Document History

For a patient enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal, when you send a document that is attached to the patient's chart, the system creates an audit trail. The system also records when the patient opens the document from the NextGen® PxP Portal website. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the Tool Bar, select People Lookup . The People Lookup window opens. Search for a patient and select the patient. For more information on searching for a patient, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Patient Demographics Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. The Patient Chart window opens on the Patient Information tab. Select the Clinical History/Notes tab. In Topics, under the Chart Notes folder, select the Document Management folder. The contents of the Document Management folder appear in Details. To open an image in the Details pane, right-click the image, and then select Open. The image appears in a new window. Send NextGen® Document Management Images to NextGen PxP Portal

You can send NextGen® Document Management images that are added to encounters, to a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. CAUTION: If the size of the image exceeds 15 MB after the image conversion, a message appears stating that the image is too large to export. In System Administrator, you can set the size limit for documents that are sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the toolbar, select People Lookup. The People Lookup window opens. Search for a patient and select the patient. Send Patient Documents from Encounter History

Before you begin To send the NextGen® Document Management images to NextGen® PxP Portal, ensure that the Rights > Operations > Imaging > Send Doc Mgmt Image to Patient Portal in System Administrator must be set to True and the necessary access rights must be enabled. If the right is set to No, the Send to Patient Portal option appears disabled for the selected image. You must also select the Patient Portal Accessible check box for the document type in File Maintenance. You can export documents, images, or SAP® Crystal Reports® objects from NextGen® Enterprise EHR to NextGen® PxP Portal for patients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal.
