Release Messages Accepted by Other Users

If a user who accepted a message is unable to attend to the message for any reason, you can release it so that you or other users in the routing rule can take the responsibility of the message and perform necessary actions.

An online profile works similar to an email distribution list. If an online profile is used, everyone listed in the online profile receives the responses. Patients can only respond to an online profile. They cannot initiate a message. For more information about creating online profiles, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Configuration Guide for NextGen® PxP Portal .

  1. From Inbox, right-click the message that you want to release, and then select Release.

    The Comments window opens.
  2. In Comment, enter a note for other users in the routing policy, if required.
  3. Select Release.
The released icon appears in the Completed column for all users in the routing policy.
You or another user must manually accept the message to take ownership.
