Marking Messages as Clinically Relevant
When you compose messages that contain any clinical information, you can mark them as clinically relevant to achieve your Meaningful Use reporting requirements. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, every message you compose is marked as clinically relevant by default. If the message is not clinically relevant, you can clear the selection. When the message is opened from the Outbox or Sent Items, the clinically relevant indicator cannot be modified. However, when replying to or forwarding the message, you can select the indicator or clear the selection. The indicator is not available when you view a message sent by a patient from NextGen® PxP Portal.
On the Patient Portal Message window, do one of the following:
- If the message contains any clinical information, ensure that Contains Clinical Information is selected.
- If the message does not contain any clinical information, clear Contains Clinical Information.
