Mark a Message as Clinically Relevant

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, every message you compose is marked as clinically relevant by default. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, messages are not automatically marked as clinically relevant.

When replying to or forwarding a message, you can select or clear the indicator. When you open the message from the Outbox or Sent Items, you cannot modify this indicator. The indicator is also not available on messages sent by a patient or care manager.

  1. On the NextGen® Enterprise PM main toolbar, select the Mailbox button.
  2. From the list in the upper-right corner of the window, select Patient Portal.
    A list of patient portal folders appears in the left pane. A list of messages appears in the right pane.
  3. Select the New Message button. .
    The Patient Portal Message window opens.
  4. Complete your message as required.
  5. Do one of the following actions:
    • If the message contains any clinical information, ensure that Contains Clinical Information is selected.

    • If the message does not contain any clinical information, clear Contains Clinical Information.
