Generate and Print Crystal Reports

After completing the set up tasks (for example, location, printer), you can generate and print/fax your SAP Crystal Reports. The Save to Chart option is available only for the This encounter to Current Patient and the All encounters for Current Patient report types. In addition, you can save a report to a patient's chart using the Save to Chart option, only if a patient chart is open. When a report is saved to a chart, it is saved as a .pdf and becomes a permanent item within the patient's chart. When you select the report for viewing or printing, it opens in the Imaging module. Therefore, ensure that the report contains the appropriate data before selecting the Save to Chart option. From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR File menu, select Reports > Crystal Reports. Crystal Reports for NextGen® PxP Portal

SAP® Crystal Reports® is a reporting tool that helps you design and generate custom reports from variety of data sources to meet specific reporting needs. You need to use the latest version of SAP Crystal Reports. A set of all standard Crystal Reports is included in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, versions 5.6 and later. The files reside in the Distributed Reports folder on your server and must be copied to your designated folders in your NextGenRoot folder when upgrading to version 5.6 or later. CAUTION: If you use the Microsoft SQL Server® 2012 database with the SQL Server Native Client 11.0 driver to connect to the database, the SAP Crystal Reports functionality may not work properly. It is a known issue with SAP Crystal Reports. To ensure that you can run your SAP Crystal Reports, use the SQL Server Native Client 10.0 driver to connect to the SQL Server 2012 database. Set Up SAP Crystal Reports

Only reports already created in the SAP Crystal Reports application and placed in the directory specified in the Universal Preferences appear on the Report Setup Dialog window. To generate, print, or fax SAP Crystal Reports you must set up each report and assign it to a printer. From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR File menu, select Reports > Crystal Reports. On the Report Dialog window, select Report Setup. The Report Setup Dialog window opens. From Report File, select one of the available report files. Select the plus button for All encounters for All Patient. Select a Location for your report. Note: Only providers at the selected location can access the report. If you leave the Location field blank, providers from all locations can access the report. Select a Printer. Optional: Select the one of the following options in the Filter By section: System Enterprise Practice Optional: Select Use Report Server. Note: To use this feature you must have the NextGen Report Server properly set up.

Send SAP® Crystal Reports® to NextGen® PxP Portal

From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR File menu, select Reports > Crystal Reports. The Report Dialog window opens. Select the desired report, and select Save to Chart. The report is added to the patient chart. To send SAP® Crystal Reports® to NextGen® PxP Portal, do one of the following: Send as an attachment in communication messages. Send from File menu. Send from History toolbar. Send from PAQ module. Access and Set Up SAP Crystal Reports

SAP Crystal Reports master files are stored in folders in the NextGenRoot folder. To use a report, you use Windows® Explorer to copy the report file to a location specified in the Reports Universal Preference. The Standard reports included in NextGen® Enterprise EHR are stored in the Distributed Reports Crystal Reports folder. The location of other report files can vary. After you copy the report files to the correct location, you can use the Report Dialog to set up and generate the report. Generate and Print SAP Crystal Reports

After you set up a report, you can generate and print or fax a SAP Crystal Reports. When you generate a report, you can do any of the following: Print Preview Fax Save to Chart NextGen® Enterprise EHR can store patient chart items (Documents, Images, Notes, Report, and so on) in multiple locations. If enabled, this functionality allows you to store items from the patient chart in separate directories that are automatically separated by date. Note: If you enable Multiple Storage Locations support for Patient Chart Items, the setting automatically overrides the directory setting for the type of an item specified in the Universal Preferences.
