NextGen® PxP Portal Provider Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR

View Portal Messages

Before you begin For NextGen® Enterprise messages to reach NextGen® PxP Portal, you must ensure the following in Site Generator: Patient Messaging online solution is active Provider's are configured in Administrator Setup/Access Location is configured in Interface Setup For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Site Generator User Guide for NextGen® PxP Portal. The last three months messages are displayed by default. On the main toolbar, select the Inbox button. The Workflow window opens. Select the Patient Portal tab. The Communications, Prescriptions, Appointments, and Online Forms folders appear in the left pane. The messages appear in the right pane. Optional: To view all the communication sent and received for the selected patient, select Patient-Specific View. Note: The count of unread or unsent messages in the Communications, Prescriptions, and Appointments folders refreshes every time you switch between full view and patient-specific vie

Set up Patient Portal Trigger

The Patient Portal action launches windows at run time that enable you to: Set up an account for a patient on the NextGen® PxP Portal website. Schedule the future delivery of a message to a patient enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. After a message has been scheduled, you can review and edit or delete it, if necessary. NextGen® PxP Portal is a secure Internet portal that enables patients to communicate with providers, request appointments, request prescription refills, review test results, complete online forms, view documents and statements, and access health reference information. Preferred Contact and Notification Icons Preferred Contact and Notification Icons The fields that display on the Notifications list depend on the Notification Preferences and Contact Methods selected on the Practice Preferences Patient Notifications window. The icons that display in the Contact Information section of the Add/Modify Person Information window indicate how the practice can notify a patient. Patients can be notified through the Patient Portal. There is no icon for Patient Portal notification. When you select the Pat Notification option and set the patient preferences in the Notifications field, the relevant icons appear in the Contact Information section. When you select the EDI Notification option and set the preferences on the EDI Messaging window, the appropriate icons appear in the Contact Information section.
