Updating Surgery Order Details

You can update the details of a surgery order on the Surgery Order Management template.

The following table describes the fields that can be updated on the Surgery Order Management template. The read-only fields on the Surgery Order Management template display the details of surgery orders from the Surgery Sched template.

AuthorizationYou can click Get, and select the authorization number from the Authorizations window. You can also manually enter the value in the Authorization field.
LabsYou can select the appropriate option for ordering labs prior to a surgery.
TestingYou can select the appropriate option for ordering tests prior to a surgery.
MedsYou can click the Meds Complete check box to indicate that the medication details are entered.
Appointment WithFor the clearances documented on the Surgery Sched template, you can add the appointment details. You can click the Appointment With field and select the provider's name from the Provider window.
Appt. Date & TimeYou can do one of the following to enter the date and time of the appointment.
  • To enter the current date and time, you can click the Clock icon icon.
  • To enter a specific date and time, you can click the date field, and enter the appointment date from the calendar window. You can click the Down arrow icon icon, and enter the time in the time entry window.
Not Cleared and ClearedYou can select the appropriate option to indicate whether the appointment is cleared.
NotesYou can enter your notes.
Add MessageYou can enter your message in the message field, and click Add Message to add it to the Order Status/Messages grid.
Surgery Order StatusYou can update the status of a surgery order by selecting Scheduled, Ready for surgery, or Surgery Completed check box. The following check boxes are read-only, and display the status updated on the Surgery Sched template.
  • Ordered
  • Cancelled
  • Rescheduled
