Letters and Reports on the Finalize Visit Template

The Finalize Visit template has links to letters, office notes, and reports. The Radiology Report displays all non-X-ray orders that have been performed and interpreted on today's encounter. The X-ray Report displays all x-ray tests that have been performed and interpreted on today’s encounter on the Radiology Order Management template. There is also a Document Generation Log, carbon copy provider fields, Electronic Clinical Summary, and NextGen Portal Registration sections. You can click the report and letter icons to generate documents. The Electronic Clinical Summary and NextGen Portal Registration selections carry forward if entered on the Intake template. Submit Today's Charges

Once all items in the coding grid have been coded as desired, the provider must submit charges and sign off on the template (if not using PAQ signoff) to finalize the visit and generate the office note. On the Finalize Visit template, click Submit to send charges to NextGen® Enterprise PM for billing. Note: Radiology orders that have an Interpreted status are updated to Submitted. The system will alert you if there are radiology tests that do not have an Interpreted status. Check the Provider Signoff check box to sign off on the visit, unless you are using the PAQ. Apply Diagnoses to Procedures

To add all selected diagnoses to all procedures in the bottom grid, click the Apply To All button. Any diagnosis with a check mark is added to all procedure in the coding grid. To apply codes to individual procedures, do the following: Select the diagnosis codes desired for the procedure. Select the procedure. Click the Apply Codes button. Performing Dictation

You can perform dictation before finalizing a patient visit on the Finalize Visit template. You can use the Dictate button and No Dictation check box on the Finalize Visit template for performing dictation. The Dictate button and No Dictation check box appear only if the dictation feature is configured in the Dictation panel on the Practice Configuration template. Dictation on the Finalize Visit template If you dictate using a method that delivers dictation directly to the NextGen® Enterprise EHR (for example, NextGen® Mobile or Nuance® Dragon), you need not configure dictation so that the use of dictation does not require additional steps before the office note can be generated. Make Changes to Submitted Charges with the Administrative Override

Any changes to submitted charges require an administrative override. Only users configured to have administrative override rights can reset codes on a submitted procedure. Administrative Override on the Finalize Visit template On the Finalize Visit template, select the Administrative Override check box. This enters the user’s name with a date and timestamp. Click the Reset Codes button. The IORTS FV Adminover template opens. Select the item for which you want to override the charges. Click Reset Codes. Click Close to return to the Finalize Visit template. Re-code and submit the charges. Note: This does not remove charges that have already been sent. Add an Assessment (Diagnosis)

The Today’s Diagnosis grid pulls in diagnoses that were entered on the Billable Visit template under the Diagnosis Management section. Diagnoses with a check mark are selected to be applied to Procedure codes in the coding grid. All diagnoses are selected by default when you open the Finalize Visit template. Click the Add - Remove button below the Today’s Diagnosis grid. The IORTS FV Add Assess template opens. IORTS FV Add Assess template Double-click the diagnosis in the patient’s Diagnosis grid to add it to the Today’s Diagnosis grid. Note: If a diagnosis is not in the grid, you can find and add it by using the Add button (or the Problem IT button if your practice is configured to use IMO). Click Close to return to the Finalize Visit template. The diagnosis is added to the Today’s Diagnosis grid. Parent topic: Finalizing a Patient Visit
