Edit a Procedure

You can change the procedure description and/or the diagnosis codes attached to it, add or edit the Fee pulled from File Maintenance for the procedure, designate the procedure as No Charge and add any necessary modifiers. In the Diagnosis/Procedure Information panel, click the Edit button below the coding grid. The Edit Surgery Coding template opens. Select a procedure from the grid. Edit Surgery Coding window To add a modifier, click the Modifier field and select from the picklist. To change the fee, click the Fee field. To change the procedure Description and/or Side, click those fields and choose another entry. Attach a Suggested Modifiers

You can attach suggested modifiers to a procedure in the coding grid. Suggested modifiers appear above the grid in blue text. Different categories allow for different modifiers which appear above the grid when a procedure is selected. For example, the office visit procedure code allows for the following common modifiers: Modifiers on the Finalize Visit template Select the procedure from the coding grid. Add a Procedure on the Surgery Coding Template

To add a procedure, do one of the following: If using IMO, click the Procedure IT button to launch the IMO template. Click the Procedure Codes button below the Procedures grid to launch the IORTS Px Xpo template. Click on procedures to be billed in the grid. When you click on a procedure, it moves to the coding grid and a check mark appears next to it in the Procedures grid. Only the procedures with a check mark in the Procedures grid and that are in the coding grid can be submitted to Superbill or the patient’s histories. Add a Diagnosis

Click the Add-Remove button below the diagnoses grid to launch the Add/Remove Assessments template. Double-click the diagnosis in the Diagnosis grid. Note: If the diagnosis is not in the Diagnosis grid, you can add it using the Add button to launch the Common Assessment template or Problem IT button to launch IMO template. Click Close. Apply the diagnoses to the procedures in the coding grid by doing one of the following: Click the Apply to All button to add all selected diagnoses to all procedures in the bottom grid. Any diagnosis with a check mark will be added to all procedures in the coding grid. To apply a code to a specific procedure, by selecting them (anything with a green check mark), selecting the procedures in the Procedures grid, and clicking Apply Codes. Coding Procedures

You can view all procedures, diagnoses, and modifiers that need to be billed for the current encounter to finalize a visit. The coding grid on the Finalize Visit template displays the following items that need to be billed for the current encounter. Procedures Diagnoses Modifiers Orders for durable medical equipment (DME) that are dispensed by your practice The following details are displayed for each item in the coding grid. Visit type Billing status of the procedure Description of the procedure to be billed Primary diagnosis codes after it is been coded Modifiers Code being sent for billing Coding grid on the Finalize Visit template The billing status is displayed as Coded for the items that have a diagnosis code, and the billing status is blank for the items without a diagnosis code. After you submit the charges, the billing status is displayed as Submitted for all items in the coding grid. Apply Diagnoses to Procedures

To add all selected diagnoses to all procedures in the bottom grid, click the Apply To All button. Any diagnosis with a check mark is added to all procedure in the coding grid. To apply codes to individual procedures, do the following: Select the diagnosis codes desired for the procedure. Select the procedure. Click the Apply Codes button.
