Attach Other Modifiers

You can attach modifiers outside the suggested ones using a configurable picklist. Click the View button. The IORTS FV View template opens. IORTS FV View template Select a procedure from the top Procedures grid. The fields below the grid fill in with the description of the procedure (Order item), the performed date, the CPT code, Proc Status, and Billing Status. Click the modifier fields and select a modifier from the IORTS Modifier picklist. Click OK. Click Update to save changes. Click Close to return to the Finalize Visit template. Reset Incorrectly Coded Procedures

If a procedure has been coded incorrectly, you can remove all diagnoses and modifiers from the coding grid on the Finalize Visit template. To reset a single procedure code, select the procedure from the grid and click the Reset Codes button. If all procedures have been coded incorrectly, click the Reset All Codes button to remove all diagnoses and modifiers for all listed procedures. View and Change the Order of Diagnoses Codes

You can view diagnosis codes attached to a procedure and change the order in which those codes are displayed for billing purposes. On the Finalize Visit template, click the View button under the grid displaying the Visit Type, Billing Status, Description, and more. The IORTS FV View template opens. IORTS FV View template Select a procedure from the Procedures grid to view the diagnosis codes. A diamond next to the procedure indicates the selected procedure. The fields below the grid fill with the corresponding data from the grid. The lower left section displays ICD codes attached to the selected procedure. To change the order of the codes, select a diagnosis code and use the up and down arrows to move the code up or down in the list. The code at the top is the primary ICD code. Apply Diagnoses to Procedures

To add all selected diagnoses to all procedures in the bottom grid, click the Apply To All button. Any diagnosis with a check mark is added to all procedure in the coding grid. To apply codes to individual procedures, do the following: Select the diagnosis codes desired for the procedure. Select the procedure. Click the Apply Codes button. Coding Procedures

You can view all procedures, diagnoses, and modifiers that need to be billed for the current encounter to finalize a visit. The coding grid on the Finalize Visit template displays the following items that need to be billed for the current encounter. Procedures Diagnoses Modifiers Orders for durable medical equipment (DME) that are dispensed by your practice The following details are displayed for each item in the coding grid. Visit type Billing status of the procedure Description of the procedure to be billed Primary diagnosis codes after it is been coded Modifiers Code being sent for billing Coding grid on the Finalize Visit template The billing status is displayed as Coded for the items that have a diagnosis code, and the billing status is blank for the items without a diagnosis code. After you submit the charges, the billing status is displayed as Submitted for all items in the coding grid. Add Visit Code Modifiers

You can add or replace visit code modifiers. After you have calculated or selected a visit code on the Finalize (BH) template, the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine may add modifiers to the visit code based on coding rules. You can also manually add up to two modifiers for each visit code and edit the modifiers. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. For a patient record, open a new encounter. Open the Finalize (BH) template. Expand the Evaluation and Management Coding panel. To add a modifier to a visit code, select Modifier(s) under the corresponding visit code, and then select a code from the list. To replace the modifier of a visit code, select a modifier, and then select another modifier from the list.
