Managing Top Navigation Bar
You can control which tabs appear in the gray workflow bar at the top of NextGen® Orthopedic Suite templates from the Top Bar Navigation panel of the Specialty Nav Config system template. You can change the tab links (the template pages or picklists that the tabs open), the tab display names and their order. For optimal workflow, NextGen Healthcare recommend keeping the links as close to the default set as possible. There are two sections in the Top Bar Navigation panel: Visit Type/Workflow: Use this section to configure templates accessed from the top bar of the standard configured workflow. Single Bar Navigation: Use this section to configure templates accessed from the top bar of templates outside the workflow. You can also add a new template to single bar navigation. Managing Database Picklist
You can manage any of the database picklists used for configuration of navigation links in the Database Picklist panel of the Specialty Nav Config system template. In the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite this pertains to forms, non-billable visit types, and fracture care types. Customize Provider Specific Side Navigation Pane
You can customize provider-specific side navigation pane. For example, if the provider is a shoulder specialist, you can update that provider’s exam list to show primarily shoulder/upper extremity exams. All providers have access to the core exams. However, having a provider-specific side navigation enables easier access to more pertinent templates. On the Specialty Nav Config system template, expand the Provider Custom Sidebar panel. Provider Custom Sidebar panel on the Specialty Nav Config template Select the category, Exam or Fracture. Note: The asterisk is the only option for visit type. Select the provider from the Provider field. Select the exams from the left-hand grid. Move to the provider grid using the right arrow. Managing Side Navigation Panes
You can manage the side navigation pane used on the Physical Exam panel of the Billable Visit and Fracture Care templates from the Side Navigation panel of the Specialty Nav Config system template. Side Navigation panel on the Specialty Nav Config template There are two categories for the side navigation: Exams, and Fracture and for each category there are eight menu groups: Comprehensive MS Core Exams Fracture Miscellaneous Neurovascular ROM Strength Tenderness The menu groups have default settings that you can change, to determine which templates appear the side navigation. Note: We recommend only changing the order or menu group in which you see the exams. Adding custom exam templates or non-out of the box exam templates are not built into the stored procedures to pull to the grid and be calculated as part of the E&M code. Add a New Sub Navigation Link to a Template
You can add sub navigation links on the medical record templates of the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. On the Specialty Nav Config system template, expand the Sub Bar Navigation panel. In the field below the Template Name column of the grid, select the template for which you want to configure sub navigation links. Click the Link field. A picklist of templates and databases opens. Select the template or database picklist to add as a sub navigation link and click OK. In the Display field, enter a display name for the link. Click Add/Update.
