Customize Provider Specific Side Navigation Pane

You can customize provider-specific side navigation pane. For example, if the provider is a shoulder specialist, you can update that provider’s exam list to show primarily shoulder/upper extremity exams. All providers have access to the core exams. However, having a provider-specific side navigation enables easier access to more pertinent templates. On the Specialty Nav Config system template, expand the Provider Custom Sidebar panel. Provider Custom Sidebar panel on the Specialty Nav Config template Select the category, Exam or Fracture. Note: The asterisk is the only option for visit type. Select the provider from the Provider field. Select the exams from the left-hand grid. Move to the provider grid using the right arrow. Managing Top Navigation Bar

You can control which tabs appear in the gray workflow bar at the top of NextGen® Orthopedic Suite templates from the Top Bar Navigation panel of the Specialty Nav Config system template. You can change the tab links (the template pages or picklists that the tabs open), the tab display names and their order. For optimal workflow, NextGen Healthcare recommend keeping the links as close to the default set as possible. There are two sections in the Top Bar Navigation panel: Visit Type/Workflow: Use this section to configure templates accessed from the top bar of the standard configured workflow. Single Bar Navigation: Use this section to configure templates accessed from the top bar of templates outside the workflow. You can also add a new template to single bar navigation. View Default Settings

You can view all default settings for side navigation pane of the Physical Exam panel of the Billable Visit and Fracture Care templates. On the Specialty Nav Config system template, expand the Side Navigation panel. In the Category field, select Exam or Fracture. The default exams corresponding to the selection appear in the side navigation and the grid. To see other default menu groups, click in the Menu Group field. The Menu Group picklist opens. Menu Group field in the Side Navigation panel Select the desired menu group. The picklist closes and the default exam templates for the selected category and menu group appear in the grid. Add a Template to a Side Navigation Menu Group

On the Specialty Nav Config system template, expand the Side Navigation panel. In the Category field, select Exam or Fracture. The default exams corresponding to the selection appear in the side navigation and the grid. In the Menu Group field, select the desired menu group. The grid fills with the default exam templates for the selected category and menu group. Open a Category and select a Menu Group to populate the grid with the templates for that group. In the field below the Link To / Template Name column of the grid, select the template to be added to side navigation. Add/Update button in the Side Navigation panel The details relevant to selected template appear in the corresponding fields below the grid. Enter or edit the display name for template, as required. To associate a body part with the template, select a body part below the Body Part column of the grid. The associated body part determines what template is launched when jumping from menu group to menu group. For example:

Navigation Configuration

You can customize the links and labels on the top navigation bar and sub navigation bar on the Navigation Configuration (Specialty Nav Config) system template. You can also configure the physical exam sidebar based on the rendering provider. Update the Display Name of an Exam Template

You can change the display name of a Physical Exam template. On the Specialty Nav Config system template, expand the Side Navigation panel. Open a Category and select a Menu Group to which desired template belongs. All the templates associated with the selected category and menu group appear in the below grid.
