Managing Side Navigation Panes

You can manage the side navigation pane used on the Physical Exam panel of the Billable Visit and Fracture Care templates from the Side Navigation panel of the Specialty Nav Config system template. Side Navigation panel on the Specialty Nav Config template There are two categories for the side navigation: Exams, and Fracture and for each category there are eight menu groups: Comprehensive MS Core Exams Fracture Miscellaneous Neurovascular ROM Strength Tenderness The menu groups have default settings that you can change, to determine which templates appear the side navigation. Note: We recommend only changing the order or menu group in which you see the exams. Adding custom exam templates or non-out of the box exam templates are not built into the stored procedures to pull to the grid and be calculated as part of the E&M code. Managing Top Navigation Bar

You can control which tabs appear in the gray workflow bar at the top of NextGen® Orthopedic Suite templates from the Top Bar Navigation panel of the Specialty Nav Config system template. You can change the tab links (the template pages or picklists that the tabs open), the tab display names and their order. For optimal workflow, NextGen Healthcare recommend keeping the links as close to the default set as possible. There are two sections in the Top Bar Navigation panel: Visit Type/Workflow: Use this section to configure templates accessed from the top bar of the standard configured workflow. Single Bar Navigation: Use this section to configure templates accessed from the top bar of templates outside the workflow. You can also add a new template to single bar navigation. Navigation Configuration

You can customize the links and labels on the top navigation bar and sub navigation bar on the Navigation Configuration (Specialty Nav Config) system template. You can also configure the physical exam sidebar based on the rendering provider. Change Exam Display Order

You can change the order the exams display in the provider’s custom navigation pane. On the Specialty Nav Config system template, expand the Provider Custom Sidebar panel. Update an Exam Display Name

You can update the display name of an exam in the provider’s custom navigation pane. On the Specialty Nav Config system template, expand the Provider Custom Sidebar panel. Provider Custom Sidebar panel on the Specialty Nav Config template Select the desired category and provider. Select the exam from the right grid. The exam details appear in the fields below the grid. Configure a Provider-Specific Sidebar

In the Provider Sidebar panel, you can add, remove, or reorder sidebar items based on the provider for the encounter. For example, if a practice offers aquatherapy, but a provider in the practice never performs aquatherapy, that provider can remove it from their side navigation without affecting other providers. The right grid shows the custom sidebar for the selected provider. On the Specialty Nav Config template, select Navigation Config, and then expand the Provider Custom Sidebar panel. Provider Custom Sidebar panel Select the Category field to open a list of side navigation categories. Select a category, and then select OK. Select the Visit Type field, and then select a visit type from the picklist. If you select the asterisk (*), the sidebar applies to all visit types. Under Provider, select the Filter by field, then select the provider you are configuring the sidebar for, and then select OK.
