Generating Documents for Canceled and Rescheduled Surgery Orders

You can generate documents for canceled and rescheduled surgery orders, and manage carbon copies configuration. On the Coordinator template, you can use the sections below the panels to generate documents for canceled and rescheduled surgery orders, and manage carbon copies configuration. If the surgery was canceled or rescheduled on the Surgery Sched template, the Cancelled or Rescheduled section displays the name of the staff who performed the action, and date and time of the action. Canceled and rescheduled documents on the Coordinator template You can generate documents for canceled, rescheduled, and revised surgery orders using the appropriate document Document icon icons. Clicking the Cancel, Reschedule, and R/S Postpone buttons open templates for respective optional workflows, where you can record the actions performed and who performed them. Revise Surgery Details

If you change the surgery location, or update details of the procedure on the Surgery Sched template, you can indicate that the surgery order is revised. On the Surgery Sched template, expand the Place Order panel. Select the Revised check box. A message appears stating that you can revise the surgery order only once, and you cannot combine a revised order with a rescheduled order. Click OK. The Add New Task window opens. On the Surgery Sched template, a message appears next to the Revised check box stating that the surgery is revised, and fields appear for the following: Documenting what is revised Displaying your name, and date and time of the revision Generating revised surgery document, orders, and clearance letters Revised check box in the Place Order panel Assign a task to the desired user on the Add New Task window that opens. Changing Surgery Schedules

You can cancel, revise, and reschedule the existing surgery orders. On the Surgery Sched template, in the Place Order panel, you can use the following check boxes to cancel, revise, or reschedule the existing surgery orders. Cancel Revised Reschedule Cancel, Revised, Reschedule check boxes in the Place Order panel When you cancel, revise, or reschedule a surgery order, the changes in the surgery schedule are reflected on the Coordinator template. The Order Status/Messages grid displays the changes in the surgery order status, your name, and the date and time of the change. You can also enter a message in the message field, and click Add Message for manually adding messages to the grid. If you need to add patients to the wait list or their surgery is rescheduled, you can click Add to Waitlist to send the patient’s information to the Wait List template. Reschedule Surgeries

On the Surgery Sched template, you can reschedule existing surgery orders. On the Surgery Sched template, expand the Place Order panel. Select the Reschedule check box. A message appears stating that you can reschedule the surgery order only once, and you cannot combine a revised order with a rescheduled order. Click OK. The Add New Task window opens. Tracking Surgery Orders

You can track surgery orders, add coordinator notes, and generate various documents and patient letters on the Coordinator template. The Coordinator template is intended for surgery schedulers and coordinators, and it displays the surgery details documented on the Surgery Sched template. You can use the Coordinator template for tracking the schedule and clearance of surgeries. You can also generate surgery order documents and patient letters. Coordinator template The following table describes the panels on the Coordinator template. Add a Surgical Procedure

To open the IORTS Px Xpo template, do one of the following: Under the following grids, click Add: Orthopedic Surgical History grid on the Intake template Surgical History grid on the Intake template Procedures grid on the Surgery Coding template On templates where you are adding procedures to diagnoses/assessments (for example, the Single or Multi Fx template), click the Procedure Codes button. If the Procedure Page field is blank or you want to select a different value, click the Procedure Page field, and select a value from the list and click OK. IORTS Procedure Page window Select a procedure code. If picklists open, make any selections necessary to refine the procedure description: If the IORTS Side picklist opens, select the side or bilateral, or select the blank at the top of the picklist to continue without selecting the side.
