Adding Surgery Details

Field	Description
Urgent/High Priority Order	To indicate if the surgery needs to be performed on priority.
Patient to call to Schedule	To indicate if the patient needs to make a phone call to schedule the surgery.
Is Patient a Minor	To indicate if the patient is a minor.
Is Guardian Present	You can select Y if the patient has a guardian, and enter the name and phone number of the guardian.
Surgeon	Displays the name of the surgeon. You can also click this field and update the surgeon name.
Co Surgeon	You can select the co-surgeon from the list that opens when you click the field.
Assistant	You can click the field, and select the assistant from the list. You can add another assistant in the subsequent field.
Duration	You can select the duration from the list that opens when you click the field.
Admit Type	You can click the field, and select the admit type from the list.
Anesthesia	You can click the blank field, and select the type of anesthesia from the list. You can add another anesthesia in the subsequent field.
Anesthesiologist	You can click the field, and select the provider from the list.
Position	You can click the field, and select the position of the patient from the list.
Pre/Post Op Orders	You can click the field, and select the order type from the list. You can enter additional values in subsequent fields.
OR Bed/Table	You can click the field, and select the equipment from the list. You can also enter additional values in subsequent fields.
Blood	You can click the field, and select the quantity of the blood required from the list.
Xray Equipment	You can click the field, and select the x-ray equipment from the list.
Special Xray	You can click the field, and select the special x-ray equipment from the list. You can enter additional equipment in the subsequent field.
Med Records	You can click the field, and select the medical record from the list. You can enter additional records in the subsequent field.
Pre-OP DME	You can select the value from the list that opens when you click the field. You can enter additional values in subsequent fields.
Physical Therapy	You can click the field, and select the physical therapist from the list.

Enter Surgery Details

Prior to scheduling a surgery, you can enter the details of the surgery such as surgeon, assistant, anesthesiologist, anesthetics, admit type, patient position, and specific equipment. You can enter the details of the surgery such as surgeon, assistant, anesthesiologist, anesthetics, admit type, patient position, and specific equipment in the Surgery Information panel on the Surgery Sched template. Surgery Information panel on the Surgery Scheduling template On the Surgery Sched template, expand the Surgery Information panel. Note: The Surgeon and Location fields are mandatory. By default, the rendering provider on the encounter appears in the Surgeon field. You can update the surgeon name or surgery location by clicking the field and selecting the desired option from the list. Add the surgery details in the fields. Enter any additional information about the procedure in the Procedure Notes field. To add the components required for the surgery, use the Components grid. Enter any notes

Surgery Details of Patients

You can document the surgery diagnosis, procedure codes, and surgery details prior to scheduling the surgery for a patient. You can add diagnoses, surgery details, pre-operative and post-operative procedures, components, and procedure notes in the Surgery Information panel on the Surgery Sched template. The Diagnosis, Procedure, and Surgeon fields are mandatory. Updating Surgery Order Details

You can update the details of a surgery order on the Surgery Order Management template. The following table describes the fields that can be updated on the Surgery Order Management template. The read-only fields on the Surgery Order Management template display the details of surgery orders from the Surgery Sched template. Field Description Authorization You can click Get, and select the authorization number from the Authorizations window. You can also manually enter the value in the Authorization field. Labs You can select the appropriate option for ordering labs prior to a surgery. Testing You can select the appropriate option for ordering tests prior to a surgery. Meds You can click the Meds Complete check box to indicate that the medication details are entered. Schedule Procedures

You can document the type and other details of the scheduled surgery. In the left Navigation bar, select Surgery Scheduling.The Procedure Scheduling template opens. Procedure Scheduling In the Today's Assessment section, select an assessment. The assessments for the current date appear in the grid. If no assessment appears in the grid, select Add to add the assessment.The selected assessment appears in the Selected Dx field. Schedule a Surgery for Orthopedics

From the navigation bar, click the Surgery Scheduling link.The Ort Surgery Scheduling template opens. Click the top blank row in the picklist and type a value in the field. Click the Surgeon field and select a surgeon to place the orders for surgery.
