Document Procedure or Test Instructions

You can document the test orders and test instructions regarding the pre-procedure or post-procedure instructions for a patient. In the left Navigation bar, select Surgery Scheduling.The Procedure Scheduling template opens. In the Additional details section, select the Procedure/test instructions link.The Procedure/Test Instructions template opens. Procedure/Test Instructions Template Select the appropriate option to enter the pre-procedure or post-procedure instructions. Select Instructions by, and select the name of the provider. Select the appropriate option to display the test orders or test instructions in the Select An Order grid. Select an order from the grid. In the Instructions section, do one of the following: Select Available Instructions, and select an instruction from the list. Document Pre-Operative Visit Details

You can document the details and recommend any test for a patient before surgery. On the Preop Visit template, you can record the health condition and recommend any test for a patient. You can refer to other doctors to make sure that the patient's condition is stable before the surgery. In the left Navigation bar, select Pre Op Visit.The Preop visit template opens displaying the assessment, orders, medication, and allergies details documented on the Intake and SOAP templates. Preop Visit To enter the surgery details, select Schedule Procedures.The Surgery Orders grid displays the details of the scheduled surgery. In the Consents section, do the following: Select the appropriate option after explaining the procedure details to the patient. Select Risk detail, and select the relevant pre-operative risks. Schedule a Surgery for Orthopedics

From the navigation bar, click the Surgery Scheduling link.The Ort Surgery Scheduling template opens. Ort Surgery Scheduling template To specify the facility, do one of the following: Click the Facility field and select a value from the picklist. Click the top blank row in the picklist and type a value in the field. Click the Surgeon field and select a surgeon to place the orders for surgery. To specify the assistant, do one of the following: Click the Assistant field and select a value from the picklist. Click the top blank row in the picklist and type a value in the field. Select any of the following option to indicate the surgery type: Inpatient Outpatient Observation In the Consents section, enter the required details. In the Procedure section, Click the first text box and select a diagnosis from the picklist. The second text box is filled with diagnosis code. Click the third text box to access the Select Procedure window. Search for and select an appropriate procedure. Click OK. T

Adding Surgery Details

You can enter the surgery details on the Surgery Sched template. The following table describes the fields in the Surgery Information panel on the Surgery Sched template. Field Description Urgent/High Priority Order To indicate if the surgery needs to be performed on priority. Patient to call to Schedule To indicate if the patient needs to make a phone call to schedule the surgery. Is Patient a Minor To indicate if the patient is a minor. Is Guardian Present You can select Y if the patient has a guardian, and enter the name and phone number of the guardian. Surgeon Displays the name of the surgeon. Add or Update Assessment Template

You can open the Add or Update Assessment template using the Assessments link in the My Plan template. The Add or Update Assessment template allows you to add and update assessments. Add or Update Assessment Grids in Add or Update Assessment Template You can add or update the assessment template. Open the Assessments Tab You can open the assessment tab using Add or Update Assessment template. Document Post-Op Visit Details

You can document a patient's post-operative details and physical findings. You can use the Post Op template to record the post-operative findings, including the patient's pre-operative status, history of present illness, and physical exam findings. On the Intake template, select the visit type as Post Op Visit.The Post-Op template opens. In the Reason for Visit panel, select Surgery Follow Up from the HPI list.If you do not see the surgery follow up option in the list, use Search, and select Surgery Follow Up from the search results.
